Darn it, I missed it.

Yesterday, the last one of my twin grandaughters was married and I couldn't go. Haven't been feeling well for the last several weeks and in mentioning the wedding to my doctor he said "its up to you but I really wish you would just stay home and do nothing but rest".

I talked Leone into driving there and she did call me when the vows were made and held the cell phone up so I could try to hear them but it was so cussed windy that it was hard to hear anything but the wind, it was an outdoor wedding obviously.

Now I wish I had gone anyway, that was the last of the 3 girls in sons family to be married and Leone said it was the only one that he had tears, guess the thought of having his last daughter married really got to him. Now, we only have 1 granddaughter left unmarried, she is a junior at the U. of Colorado and she announced yesterday that she will be married in June 2009 after she graduates, then we will have run out of unmarried granddaughters. Kind of makes you feel ancient.

Supposed to go to North Platte tomorrow and have a scan and x-rays and see if they can figure out what the heck is slowing me down, feel like I've got a 100 lb. rock I'm dragging around with me.

I am sorry that you missed the joyous occasion, but right now your health is the most important issue. I hope your doctors can find out what is wrong and that you soon feel better.
Take things slower. After I griped yesterday that I did not get done all I wanted to do outdoors, my son said "Well, let's face it, you are not 26 anymore, you are 76".

Maybe it's time to sit in your rocker and let your granddaughters drive to see you and Leone ... I'd bet they'd all prefer you to miss the wedding so you can still be around in June 2009. Both of you...take care. josh

No grubs. Just worms. I think earthworms are a moles #1 source of food, they just prefer grubs. Highly fertile lawns = lots of earthworms + living by a park = Moles.. Anyway, I've got two spiked traps and I've killed 5-6 moles over the past two years. New moles just keep moving in. They are all over the neighborhood becuase of that Stupid Hines Drive/Park. The problem I have is his main runway is right on the edge of the sidewalk and lawn and it is a little deeper. He will trip the trap but it doesn't go down far enough. I want to kill all the bloody bums but I can't. Sometimes they go into the neighbors lawn and leave mine alone for a while. But what seems to be most effective is to cut the grass high so the mole hills won't show and do as much damage...I wish I could drop a huge bed of spikes on my lawn to get em all..I'ts a no win battle. They just keep coming and laughing.

Lilo.......if I could figure a cheap way to ship it, I'd gladly share my chickeypoo with you. My cup runneth over. We have our.....uhm.....unusual festivals too. Oh my, the hail barely missed us the other night, but now we're headed for lows of 31 on Wednesday. Trying to figure out how to save them from becoming mush. Hope the hail didn't cause much damage to your hostas... .... and we haven't even hit slug season yet... Gesila

Josh has it right, George. They'd rather you rest up now and be there for their lst anniversary and maybe their first child if they choose to have one.

You're a precious commodity to your family, so take care of yourself. I'm sending some healthy Pacific NW vibes to you:)

Gandle, are you taking a cholesteral medicine? My f-i-l started getting weak as a kitten, couldn't hold his head up and it turned out to be a reaction to his Zorcor (sp) chlolesteral medicine. Sometimes it can cause a deterioartion of the muscles. Has some long name Rhebomyalyscin (sp). This weas first diagnosed during the London Blitz. It can happen when you have had lots of physical stress like bombings or eathquakres, or reaction to medicine (legal or illegal) or if you have been a heavy drinker.

Once they got him off the medicine and started a drip line he has been getting his strengh back. He had been on it 2 years with no adverse affects until this spring.
