Bobcat ZT Mower Electrical Problems
Comments (15)well guys its up and running no gun needed after all.apparantly when the regulator was in the process of going bad it fried about a six in section of wiring of the main harness leading to the fuses in the loom. you could smell it but not see it. I am happy, happy I can go to work, walk behinds are great but its hot and i'm tired. by the way talking to the bobcat main headquarter they told me it could be the belts,(bad bearing causing increased amperage due to more resistance on pully system)stator harness, delay module or pto. who said girls can't fix stuff, sometimes it just takes awhile to figure it out.thanks again...See Moresharpening mower blades
Comments (5)One important thing to remember when sharpening blades is to keep them balanced. An imbalanced blade will wear out spindle bearings much faster, in addition to making the whole mower vibrate more. Balancing the blades on your mower is even more critical than balancing the tires on your car, because these blades turn at around 3,000 rpm at full speed. There are a few good little tools that the homeowner can use to check blade balance. They will all check the blade for gross imbalances (at the level where you'd feel it as vibrations). I used to mow commercially, and I invested in a pro-grade tool called the Magna-Matic balancer. You mount this on the wall, and it has a ball-bearing'ed cone that engages on the blade's center hole. You turn the blade to be horizontal and then the heavy end will sink. It's so sensitive, you have to turn off your room fans as that will affect the reading. The thing cost $150 a few years ago, so understandably it probably isn't cost-effective for most homeowners. But when you run a set of sweetly balanced blades on your mower, it reminds you of that old Norelco electric shaver commercial from years ago, which showed Santa zipping along on a Norelco over the snow-covered hills, remember that? Comments (21)olychick and chispa, I also am experiencing the same disappointment with my much bragged about Overland cart. It ran great the first four months, had a glitch in regards to recharging. Manual says, "recharge after each use". Well, my step brother says, "Just leave it plugged in". When it started not keeping a full charge for short times, I complained and was told by manufacturer to not keep it plugged in. Only charge for 8hrs. So I would do that if I planned on using it the next day. Other wise left it off the charger. Then there seemed to be a problem with the charger itself. They gave me a new one. Then "maybe you need a new battery". So bought one. Didn't do a whole lot of good. The business I bought it from was very sympathetic up to a point. ha When I still complained it wasn't holding a charge they really couldn't figure it out. I've had it Which your posts make me think now that I'm not alone when it comes to battery operated machines and I'm not crazy. I've had it four years now. Still a tremendous time and back saver, but I do wish it would hold a strong charge longer especially for when making multiple trips with heavy loads. Sorry also for going a bit OT but wanted to share....See MoreCraftsman Kohler Command 25 Twin V Mower Sparks When Blade Is Engaged
Comments (1)I hope you have this running by now. What is most likely to go wrong for me is over tightening a bolt on one of the pulley's. The next most likely thing this grinding is what caused the old belt to fail. Once again most likely a bad pulley bearing. The thing to do is loosen up the belt and spin whatever pulley's you can. See if one grinds. If none do or access is too poor take the belt off (ug) and spin them. Hopefully something obvious is wrong. I had to drive mine a bit with a bad bearing to make it more obvious to me....See Moreroadbike
