Also my neighbor's blooms from now to frost with deadheading, & that is much longer than Phlox pilosa write-ups say on the internet. I am thinking that it is a local kind of Phlox pilosa that is native to Central Louisiana. I am delighted to have the cuttings. Thanks again, appreciate your help!

Petersons publishes both a medicinal plant and edible plant guide that are invaluable resources but if you are a novice to wild plants and identifying them, I would suggest starting your learning from someone in person. Books are wonderful and I have taught myself much from them but my first teachers about plants, plant safety, and plant identification were my parents when I was very young. I also have taken many in-person identification and herbal medicine classes as well as guided walks and tours. Please look for classes or perhaps herbalists in your area. Wildcrafting and processing the plant material is time-consuming. I'm sure many herbalists would trade learning for help in collecting and processing botanical material. And in learning about your wild resources, be sure to check out United Plant Savers for a list of plants that are "at risk." These are native, medicinal plants that have been decimated in the wild. You have listed what appears to be what we call "Nativars", or plants that have been selected from wild collected seed and then bred to stabilize those characteristics the person found desirable characteristics. There is some beating of the drums of disagreement about their use in the Native plant growing community. I am unsure about the purpose of your thread. Are we just to list natives that we grow or natives that we know are straight species with a trade marked name in quotes tacked on. That also happens. People will take a certain population of a plant and tack their special name on the plant. Muhlenbergia emersleyi "el Torro" is one that comes to mind.In the wild it is bullgrass so it is not much of a stretch.

Raising my hand, too, here. I've got it bad, after the initial month of morning and faciag reality about my losses. I just planted a 20x8' back yard bed with 100 Vinca starts and an adjacent bed half that size with 60 variegated Pachysandra. Luckily, both beds are surrounded by sidewalk, driveway and brick house wall, so spreading shouldn't be an issue. Added 6 Ligustrum 'Sunshine' to the bed out front looking the barest until the 5 Cast Iron clumps surrounding trees come back. Going to Lowes perhaps today to pick up something freeze hardy to go in my 6 large pots out front that were formerly home for 6 Nandina 'Firepower' that died in the freeze. They're just not showing a single new leaf or ground shoot after 2 months, so I'm certain they are goners. No more green showing inside (thich they did for awhile last month) when I scratch the bark. Staying away from annuals for the most part. Freeze-hardy perennials is all I'm looking at these days. Learned my lesson. This week I'm planting a small bed with Lamb's Ear to meander at the feet of some Giant Liriopes starting to come back again. Want it to choke out the weeds in that bed. My existing Lamb's Ear came through the freeze with flying colors! :)
