looks like a pyracantha to me. search for images of pyracantha coccinea. are there thorns on the stems? did it have orange/red berries last fall and winter? those traits would be typical for pyracantha, a.k.a. firethorn. if it is this plant, they are not native but popular as ornamentals because of the showy fruit display and tough nature of the shrubs. i have seen them escape into wild areas along roadbanks and fields.

houstontexas is right that it is definitely not a fig but not for the reason given. The genus Ficus has many members with unlobed leaves. But they do not have visible flowers. Thanks for the extra pictures, joflo723. I am pretty sure it is a Solanum of some kind. Look at the link and see what you think. Your does appear to have the two unequal sized leaves. Hi Mike, Thanks. We have 5 acres and I'm thinking of moving them to the west side of the property well away from the house. They will have lots of room to flourish, and be a nice backdrop on the top of a ridge behind an area that is planted with native plants I love the color of the foliage and the wispy nature of these trees. Definitely want them to have a spot where they can shine. New to this much property and so many species. Lots to learn... Glad to have a GW member so close by! It sounds in a way similar to a chickadee to me - a two-note, descending melody - but distinct enough that I can't possibly see that it could be one unless I've got mutant chickadees in the woods at work.
