Incorporating Green Manure By Hand

Hi! I am an organic, small-scale farmer growing on about 1/4 an acre. Last fall I planted a nice cover crop / green manure mix of hairy vetch and winter rye. It survived the winter, and with the recent warm spring weather has started to grow like crazy!

Everyone I know who grows green manure crops to incorporate into the soil does so by mechanical means (i.e. tractors and gas powered tillers).

My question is this: is there a way to grow green manure crops to full size, and then incorporate them into the soil somehow by hand? I am not opposed to using a weedwhacker and/or a lawn mower, but I would like to figure out a way to do this without a tiller or a tractor. I am thinking maybe some combo of weedwhacker and a broadfork? Does anyone have practical experience with this, or enlightened suggestions? I'd love to hear them.

Thanks!!
