OOPS!!! Sorry I didn't know that about Jan. 1 being "everybody's" birthday, if a specific date isn't given. Oh well, Happy Birthday, whenever it is. :>) Mwoods, your statement about each year bringing "joy, laughter, and some tears" is so true. None of us ever knows what's ahead for us. Thank you all, my dear, dear friends. Yesterday we had one of those days here at our house -- no water for 36 hours, Freya sneaking a pizza off the kitchen counter, and the smell of fresh polyurethane pervading the cold, damp house.... On the other hand, I had the loving affection of Tom and my DS Jacob, calls and cards from family, and greetings from all of you. And tonight we're going out to dinner to try celebrate again. Carla, Luanne, Jon, Anita, Lori, Ingrid, Sue, Carolina, Pamela, and Carol -- each one of your messages brought smiles and memories to my mind. I just realized that with the exception of Ingrid, I know each one of you in the Real World (as opposed to online) -- Ingrid, we'll just have to correct that soon. Thanks for the birthday wishes! This is the 5-0 birthday for me and it's just hard for me to believe it! After yesterday though, I'm FEELING it! LOL The house my boys lived in when they were in college is going on the market today so I was over there painting the kitchen cabinets and staging the bathrooms (cleaned them spic-n-span first). Oh my, I have soreness in places I didn't even know I had places! It probably didn't help that I came home and practically guzzled a bottle of wine while in the hot tub! So I guess 49 went out with a bang and 50 is coming in with a whimper. :-)

I'm so glad I checked in. Happy Birthday friend..hope you and E are going to celebrate if you haven't already. You were here when I joined the GP over 10 years ago..and how odd this place would seem if you weren't checking in every day or so,not only that but not as much fun.

Well, Happy Day, Lady! I looked up your star sign, because I figured it had to be something special and sure enough it fit you well. I can't imagine the Garden Party without you, either. Thanks you guys! It was pea soup foggy here this morning & I was groping my way to my garden club meeting out by Lake Tyler, sort of wondering if I really wanted to make the drive. But they surprised me with a cake & paninis, so it was a great way to start the day.

This is one of those milestone birthdays - the big 6-0 so I've had a lot of phone calls & cards from old friends who knew me when. It's sort of hard to believe that I've arrived at this point since i really don't feel much different from when I was in my late twenties or thirties. I'm just hoping that the benefits of gardening will keep me going from this point forward.
