A cool, but pretty day here today & I was greeted by my azaleas just starting to open. No matter what your faith, one can't help but to be buoyed up by the earth starting to grow & blossom after a long winter.

A downright chilly day here, but sunny. The daffys and forsythia are blooming, the irises are rising from the ground, and the rhubarb we moved last fall is up! MUCH more to come..can't wait. I hope you all had a joyous Easter.

Nice day here...blue skies, white fluffy clouds, sunny and warm.
Azaleas in all their glory.
Dogwoods in full bloom.
My Don Juan has about a dozen blooms with a few blooms on other roses.

We had our traditional egg hunt with the grands after church today...10 younger ones hunting eggs...3 older ones hiding.
Each year we add a few more plastic eggs.
Up to 619 this year-all filled with little surprises.
They found 596 eggs and 2 ribbon snakes.

We had an unusual respite from the rain. The sun was out and brilliant, and that made is seem warmer, even though it wasn't. The little green things aren't popping too much out of the ground yet due to the cold....but the crocus made it in time for Easter. The buds on the magnolias are awesome though, and when the trees start to pop, it's going to be a sight.

The stream has been running from our spring head now for a good month, quite fast and I see crawdad holes all over. I didn't expect to see that so early.

We had family in for a good meal, and that meant at least the downstairs was picked up......it goes to hades in a handbasket when I am working on Easter orders. The main greenhouse still has the cloying, heavy perfume of blooming lilies hanging heavy in the moist air. Heavenly.

I just looked at the forecast for the coming week, and I see hints of fifties and sixties, with cold nights. Spring is going to pop like a ripe hickey when it finally does.
