Lamora, you are definitely not stupid! You have questions that need to be answered. You are unsure of some things and need re-assurance. Yes potting up during a stressful time isn't the greatest but you thought it was. And that's okay. Some tips for you :) The Spider Plant requires only light watering. Allow the soil to dry completely in between waterings. You only need to water the spider plant once every two weeks. If the foliage begins to show black tips or a yellow halo, you are probably over watering the plant. If the foliage begins to drop, the plant is ready for a drink. If the foliage begins to brown, try watering with distilled water. The Spider Plant has been known to have problems if there are chemicals in the water. Spider Plants prefer natural light, but do not place them in direct sunlight. If the leaves begin turning brown, try moving the plant out of the direct light. If the plant is kept within 5 to 8 feet of a window it should grow fine. Information i found is that they like loose airy soil as well. So although you recently repotted the plant check to see if the soil its in is really dense. if it is, unpot it and add some perlite to the mix and pot it back into its pot. Sure the plant is already stressed and yada yada yada but i have a feeling if we can correct what has happened thats wrong we may be able to move this plant into the correct path of gorgeous growth:) Everyone has differing opinions and what works for them with their house plants. as for me for instance. I water my jades once a week even though its frowned upon... it's what they like. I hope i threw some good info your way! goodluck with your spider!

Watering twice a day is not necessary except sometimes for potted plants in extreme heat. They need to be planted deeper than the nursery pot. Having their crowns exposed isn't good. It is normal for flowers on newly planted plants to drop their petals and be done. I would cut them both back myself but many others do not do so when planting.

Dizzy, Do you have a spot outside that receives afternoon shade? The jasmine you have will appreciate a little shade in the hot afternoon. I would put it outside. Do you want to keep it in a pot, or plant it in the ground and dig it up in October and bring it in? If you want to keep in a pot, you are going to have to bump it up in size a bit, not too big, just a size or two bigger. Change the soil too. Check out the roots when you take it out of the exsisting pot, see if the are circling a lot around the outside of the soil when you take it put of the pot. If they are, get a sharp knife and gently cut the roots a little all the way around the bottom of the soil before you put it in your new pot with your new soil. By cutting the roots, this will encourage the roots to grow into the new soil in its new pot. You water your plant when it needs it. Stick your finger down into the soil as far as you can, see if it is moist. If now, water it. The hotter it is, the more often your pot will need soil. Good luck with your new vine, it will be fine.

Thanks for your posts guys - I appreciate the help! I came home today and it's looking even worse. I was little confused at the watering though - first post implied to water it more - second post implied to not water it too much! Which do you think is causing the drooping? When you say 'supplemental light' - how many hours of sunlight should the plant get ideally? And what light is sufficient as a 'supplement? Flurescent? or a normal lamp pointed at it? The problem is im not sure if it's too much water or not enough water or not enough light that's actually the problem. Josh you seem to be applying it's the lack of light that's the problem? I really want to keep this plant alive and make it flourish - I will do whatever it takes. I could probably leave it outside out the back of my block of apartments in direct sunlight for a day or 2 until I work out a more permanent solution. (It's not like someone would steal it - if they did they would suck!) But would I be better off trying that? or pointing a lamp at it 24/7 for a few days? Once again, thanks for your help guys. I really dont want it to die :(
