HAHAHA that's hysterical! Because we actually *have* a Viburnum. It's huge and way overgrown and it's on the side of the house that I rarely travel to and I completely forgot what it looked like. And yes, I'm sure this is it. SO FUNNY. To me, anyway. Perfect example of how unaware I can be of my surroundings sometimes, a little tidbit that husband loves to point out. He'll get a kick out of this one. In all fairness, we only moved into this house in March '13 and I pruned the darn thing out a lot then, and promptly forgot about it. I posted it on here, back then, for a plant ID and someone clued me in. I actually love it-- the blooms smell delicious in spring and the leaves are pretty right now-- but whoever planted it had no idea what they were doing. It's planted less than 2 feet from our house, right next to a similarly sited Spirea. Neither of them belong there. I suppose one day we will dig them out altogether but right now can't afford to fill the space in so maybe I'll do another hard pruning. Anyway, thanks so much!

Hello to the old timers and newer members..... The original topic started 8 years ago....with the search for a grafted plant that makes a nice pastel peachy colored single blossom. Spent some good money on my quest for peach blossoms, all ending in sad disappointment. The latest purchase from that sam nursery was for a reserved, back-ordered grafted Adenium "Prakray Dao"...a single, pastel peach. Again I waited, the plant was shipped dormant, and it took almost a year to see the first flowers. These flowers also were single, garish-red, with lighter throat. The flowers looked like a million other meh, Adeniums that I've seen over the years. They were NOT the peach flowers that I ordered, and certainly not the peach flowers that were shown on the label that was attached to the plant. Both time, I bought and was sent, mislabeled plants. There will not be a third time. So... my eight year quest for peachy single flowers, ended with me deciding not to try growing Adenium in NYC/Zone- 7b. Plants are a PITA to overwinter, stay dormant longer than growing and flowering period, prone to disease, virus, rotting, and are difficult to find if a special type of flower is wanted. I hate doubles....too sloppy, bunched up, and look like a flowering mess. If I wanted flowers that looked like"roses"...I'd grow mini-roses. For me, nothing beats a neat, nicely formed, single blossom. Almost impossible to find. The commercial trend seems to be going towards doubles-triples, and garish combinations of colors. So, I'm done. Too much trouble to grow in difficult climates. I no longer have the time nor the patience.

Jeff has it times 2. They are best grown with lots of good sun light to develop"bleach out" some color. They can be grown indoors but, again, without lots of good light will change appearance. Like other succulents, they are somewhat drought tolerant, will grow in almost any good draining mix and don't require too much food or attention. With time the stalk elongates, gets top heavy and will require beheading!
