I originally told myself I wouldn't post the picture of it done, but what are people going to do with my last name and a post on a home decorating/repair forum? Here's a picture of the finished product. As a bonus, you also get a picture of my husband posing with Izzy (the 2nd O on the sign) and Izzy's sister Candy (the R) sneaking into the picture in the window on the left. We decided after hanging the sign that now we need to spend the $4 and replace the house numbers, too. And for the curious, yes we ARE getting new windows and no those blinds are NOT staying.

I remember the odd layout. I think the charm could blind me to that though, at least for a while. I'd love to see more pictures now that you've made it yours. Hey, wanna come do my pantry? I've never had one before and am having a little difficulty getting everything arranged in there after we got shelves up this week. ;)

there are two separate issues that need to each be addressed entirely on their own. in all of this, remember that your fan duct is a chimney and reacts accordingly. you usually have warm air flow and waste even when not "using" it. if you have condensation and it's all in cold weather, insulate the thing. Not with that trendy gimmicky thin plastic junk but with a whole lot of plain old fiberglass. a lot of it. reseal any seams first, perhaps with brush on goop and fiberglass mesh. the water damage is a separate deal and I would not be any way qualified to suggest anything concrete without eyes-on. both issues do seem to be from poor installs. the s-trap is funny, though.
