Not sure I can type with one hand.

Getting carpal tunnel surgery tomorrow on my left wrist. No big deal, had the other one done 10 or 12 years ago but don't know whether or not I can type with one hand. If I remember correctly, the bandages come off in a couple of days so if I don't show up here for a few days I'll just be reading, not posting.

I'm glad you're getting the carpal tunnel fixed. It seems to be one of the prices we have to pay for spending way too many hours pecking away on a keyboard.

Typing with one hand can be done. I've done it for several weeks at one point due to surgery, but it's no fun.

I hope it's not long until both hands are operational.

I'd go for a vigorous, self fertile (yet palatable) Sambucus and a Japanese pear if you can polinate it or a pawpaw. Just the mood I'm in. :) Cox's orange pippin, sour cherry, damson and gage sound like excellent choices too, taking their brewing potential as well as eating. I'm getting merry on Cox's orange pippin wine as we speak, really not bad but could do with some aging. Elder wine is great but not too good to eat off the tree, which is why you should research the cultivar first with them. One or two of them have it all. I won't reccomend sloe or bullace for the same reason, they are not eating fruit. A nice tall bullace tree will keep you very happy on the wine front though, sloe being a bit 'wild', though rewarding, they grow literally everywhere here, just a matter of picking so it's hard to reccomend someone get one as a specimen. In the same vein, choke cherry and cornelian cherry in comparison with those suggested, they're eaters too though if you choose your cultivar wisely. These can take an age to fruit though(sometimes 20+ years for P. cerisafera from seed). I recently bought a Toona sinensis tree. It's not a fruit but have a read up on this tree and you'll see why I'm happy I bought one. If I think of any more, I'll post em. Cheers.

Way to cool for words. Super nice really big tell your friend it's called. The walking Sanserveria IIRC it's Cv is of the cylindrica type. Pretty easy to root ( yours already has some roots already started ) and just as easy to grow. Not alot of posting going on in there but you may want to ask for more specifics in the Sanserveria forum. Thank - you and your donating friend for showing ( all of us here) such a wonderful Sans specimen.

I don't remember where... But a butterfly gardening page told me that there are no cats in North America that sting. Were they misinformed? I am trying to get my neighbor into gardening for pollinators, but she has 2 small kids that love to play outside to worry about. Middle Tennessee

can you put in a new vanity light? there is nothing spa-like about it. You can put that one aside, (find a cheaper option w/lights that point down!) and install one of your own. this one is from lowes Ditto w/knobs on the cabinet. and maybe a new window covering. You can find bamboo blinds at lowes. grab a few plants and hang them from the ceiling like shown. (get little screw in J hooks. that can be removed and patched when you leave) see how cute? find a garden stool (HomeGoods) and put it between toilet/sink. or under window. bring in baskets. maybe hang a shelf over toilet. get some towel hangers. pretty towels. greenery, some pictures. maybe paint the wall a diff color. bamboo blinds, wicker baskets, new rug. all will give you a diff feel. how about some type of bamboo shelf caddy? maybe next to toilet or somewhere else? But you need to start w/a light fixture! these are simple DIY privacy shades i'd prob find a larger rug. one that spans toilet/sink, and covers a good portion of the tile (not these colors,,,just showing you the size large fluffy, washable white one, would prob be best get something that stretches from door to wall and tub to toilet or, try a wood / teak or bamboo, mat for exiting the shower and get a smaller rug for in front of the sink. you really shouldn't have a toilet rug. (I mean, you can, unless you have 3 guys using this bathroom. in that case it would get kind of gross.) they have a cork mat too hide the toilet supplies on the other side. maybe find a storage caddie for those

I type with one hand all the time. Sweet Dreams insists on sleeping in the crook of my arm when I am in my desk chair. I wonder if haveing my arm asleep constantly is good for it.

Good luck with the operation and have Leone update for us. It is good to hear from her, she tells the best stories about you.

I type with one hand, too, mostly because I'm propped up with the other one half-lying on sofa. So if you feel like it, you might try it. Anyway, hope all goes well and you're back soon. josh

I hope all goes well and that you heal quickly. CBT does seem to help, so think positively about getting well.

If you can't resist trying to type single-handedly, move the keyboard so that your right hand is to the left of center. [Your right index finger is poised above 'F'.] It will feel a bit strange, but you will likely adapt quickly. I often write right-handed while keyboarding left-handed; the strange thing is that reverting to 2-handed is easy and not confusing.

Good luck with the CTS surgery! I hope that cures it!

I had such on the right hand in Aug 2000 & the left hand in Nov 2000, or vice versa, & a cast or splint on each for approximately 6 weeks.

Now I have a cast on my left hand to below the elbow from another type of surgery & it may not come off until the end of Feb/beginning of Mar.

I can type fairly well since the thumb, index & middle finger of the left hand's exposed.

What bothers me is it swells up if not elevated a great deal & if I use it a whole lot, which I've been told won't allow it to heal properly.

So, don't do as I do!

Not yet for the rescheduling, still haven't called me as they promised to do. Darned arm wakes me up at night and the only thing that gives relief is to get up and let it hang down.
