I didn't decorate quite as much as in former years, but still haven't undecorated, yet. I need to do so, though, b/c by Jan. 4, it begins to look like clutter to me, too. Maybe tomorrow?

The tree is still up, my cat lives behind it and always pouts when I take it down. I still live with the German custom of tree up just before Christmas and keeping it until Jan. 6.

I like this quote, it's so much more fun to look for a potential than to contemplate at all my flaws.

Quite a few years ago, I made the decision to have all debts paid and the house top-to-bottom clean by the last day of the old year, thus permitting me to celebrate the New Year with a clean slate. I haven't always succeeded, but those years which saw me clear in finance and clean in residence have always seemed to go smoother than the years in which one or the other was left incomplete.
