I would keep the Poulan Pro because of the Honda engine. The Cub Cadet is only a 19" mower, has a Chinese engine and I doubt that it has ball-bearing wheels.

I was hoping for some more advice, according to the cub cadet web site the wheels do have ball bearings, and there is single lever height ajustment that works the 4 wheels at once. It is a nice looking unit....but the chinese engine concerns me.

The Poulan Pro has the large back wheels which I think will help with maneuverability, but I don't know much about the quality of the brand, other than the pretty sturdy Honda GVC 160 engine which is what attracted me to the mower in the first place.

The fact that the cub cadet has a smaller deck is actually a good thing as I am only using the mower to clean up around the trees and bushes that I miss with my ride on.

I bought that Cub Cadet model a little over two years ago from Home Depot (they were having a 4th of July sale and was able to get it for $190 plus tax). I found it to be a very good performer. Mulch performance was very good  everything disappeared under "typical" height cuts, and mostly disappeared when plowing through overgrown or wet areas. Bagging also was good, although the bag is a bit on the small side. Very even cut and easy to push  it does have ball bearing wheels. Overall construction was excellent for that price point. Love the single lever height adjustment.

OHV engine started up on the first pull provided that you set the choke properly. It is a Chinese-made engine, but maintenance parts (air filter, spark plug) are available at HD. IÂm not an engine expert, so I canÂt comment on the longevity of such an engine, but IÂve encountered no problems whatsoever since I purchased it.

I wound up giving the mower to my neighbor a few months ago and picked up a Toro Super Recycler (the push model  canÂt recall the exact number). There was nothing wrong with the Cub Cadet. My neighborÂs mower died on him and he couldnÂt afford a new one due to being laid off. He was borrowing my Cub regularly so I told him to keep it (heÂs a great guy that has helped me out many times in the past, so I was happy to be able to do a good turn for him). HeÂs had zero problems with it as well. I asked that he loan it back to me in the fall when I need to bag leaves, since I didnÂt get the bag attachment for the Toro.

In comparison to the Toro, the Cub Cadet is a lesser machine across the board  the Toro mulches better, has more solid construction throughout, and a better deck. But, given that the Cub was less than half the price of the Toro, I think it is a great value. I do miss the 19" width  it was easer to maneuver than the Toro in the tight spots.

IÂm not familiar with the Poulan, so I canÂt give you a specific recommendation as to which would be better for you. But the Cub has been a great performer for me (and continues to be for my neighbor) so if $65 savings is important, IÂd say go for the Cub.

I`d go with the Poulan Pro cuz it`s a much better made mower than the Cadet is and if you do end up getting it you will regret it sooner than later.Keep the Poulan Pro
Chinese stuff is generally very cheaply made will not last for very long even without abuse.
If you buy the Cadet mower than you should be prepared to buy another mower very soon cuz something will go wrong.

The first question I have is whether you feel the mower you bought is not doing the job. What isn't it doing well enough.

If it is doing the job then I'm at a loss as to why you would want to return a mower you have already used.

Ignore skane, he is a Husqy Honk (Poulan Pro is built by them). Everyone I have heard from have had excellent results from the Honda Clones and in most instances Honda replacement parts fit them as well. If 19" works well for you and the price is right I would say the one handle height adjustment and ball bearing wheels seal the deal. Good luck either way.

Update......well the price of the pretty yellow cub cadet was too good to pass up....so I bought it and .....and gave it to my parents who were ready for a new push mower for cleaning up where the ride on misses. I compared the Poulan Pro with the Honda Engine and the Cub Cadet up close.....in the end I thought the high wheels made the Poulan easier to navigate and I preferred the 21 inch cut and honda mower. I aslo put the extended 2 year warranty on the cub cadet so my folks won't have anything to worry about for the next 5 years....( and I will end up doing most of the push mowing at their place anyway!!)
