I came across this tonight and had to post it. Check out the rest of the website too. There's a little creativity that we'd call garden junk and lots of laughs.

Thanks -- I can't wait for everything to fill in, I think it will look a lot better with groundcover over the area. I think the gardenia will pull through, it seems like a main branch died but not the whole shrub. Not sure what's going on, but i'm okay to just patiently wait and see.

Gotta love those pitbulls! I'm a bully lover. Luckily mine is fantastic around chickens. Wish I could say the same about her and that damned miniature horse of my mother's. The two don't play very well together. Poor Lucy's going to get a hoof to the face if she doesn't wisen up! I'd love to see the "chicken splint". Funny how kids take to certain animals. If a child can respect an animal, chanced of them respected other humanoids is much better!

Korina, Thanks for the update. You are right, quiet board. I was on vacation for ten days, and finally couldn't handle the AV withdrawal. I bought two noids to set on the table in this cottage that had windows on 3 sides of the living room. They did great and came home in full bloom. Also had an opportunity to meet John Cook from Cape Cod Violetry. Nice man. His wife lost much of her stock last summer in a heat wave, and then had hip surgery, so they are playing catchup. I've spent the better part of a week repotting everything onto wick watering. My husband, who 'maintained' for me while I was gone, doesn't think running around with a large medicine dispenser that works like an eyedropper to water the small plants and a watering can is his idea of fun. I think I have 8 left to do. Generally a good experience except for dropping a beautiful 10 inch Beachcomber on its head from about 4 feet in the air. Did you know that a newly repotted AV will actually jump out of the pot if you turn it over to see the bottom? Interestingly enough, no damage! So, what are we going to do to liven this up? Hi Gang, I came in here needing some info on ice dams and found this thread from '05. Great info on LG/Werner/Gorilla ladders. These forums are really the place to go with questions like this. We ended up getting the LG17 from Home Depot. It has turned out to be a great ladder, but not perfect. If I used it every day it would be no problem at all, but for the occational user like me, it can be a pain to remember exactly how to get it to do what you need it to do. But, that would be the same issue with a Werner or Gorilla. It is also not a ladder to use in smaller, in home, spaces. I find it has a 'massive' feel to it so it is not the ladder I grab when painting a small bedroom, bath or even a hallway. For that reason I use it as my outdoor ladder and for that, it is just great. When cleaning gutters, getting on the roof, doing tree work, the LG is great and lives up to it's rep. When on it, I feel secure, safe and there is no sway or flex like I always got when using a aluminum extention ladder. I might spend more time figuring out the best way to get it into the size that is correct for the job, but once it is, the job goes much faster and I feel safer being on it. I really, really like my LG, but if I had it to do all over again, knowing what I know now, I would go for an in store, hands on test of each. Check out the Werner & Gorilla for weight, easy of manipulation, sway & stability. No need spending $325.00 if spending 160.00 will get you the same result. Thanks for all of your input. sooey

OMG! lol! I actually like the Mountain Dew tree, especially when it was lit. But what really caught my eye was the one at the link below.

I had to send that picture to my BF's brother who is a big hunter. I figured he would get a big kick out of it. I won't find out for sure until he gets home from hunting!

I think that was a great recycle use of the mountain dew cans.Wouldnt want to store it though who knows WHAT critters might climb in the empties!

Oh WOW! Love the ladder! Sure looks a whole lot easier to set up than the involved tree I do! I think I need a ladder!!

I sent the link for the lighted deer hanging in the tree to my son-in-law, who is an avid hunter. Too funny!

I've gotta say...Rednecks sure are creative! LOL

You remind me of my darling Suzie (Jason's wife). I call her a "one-woman party", she is such fun and half the time cracks herself up.

Wasn't there a thread on here last year about all US being red necks cause of our GJ? I seem to remember a lot of laughs about this at the time.

yee haw, I got me one of those ladders up on top of my shed. 10 ft one. gona bring that sucker in and hook up some lights and put on all my TX decorations, lol.

I loved the ladder so much that I bought 6 packs of 100 white lights on Friday morning at Lowes. They were $1.25 each. During our bulk trash pick-up a few months ago, we found 2 ladders on the curb. Just this morning my oldest son helped me and yes, we used all 600 lights on one ladder! It is beautiful and from the road it looks just like a real tree! Thanks for sharing this idea.

We were just sitting here planning our ladder tree. We have a tall stepladder that belonged to my Dad. It's red! We're going to use it for a Christmas tree on our enclosed porch! We can hardly wait! Mostly...we can't wait to see the expressions on our kid's and grandkid's faces when they see it!! LOL

Pass the eggnog! I saw an actual Reneck Christmas tree this weekend. A guy had made it for his redneck float in a parade. No pictures. The basic structure of it was a three sided pyramid set on a pole. The frame looked to be made out of thin strips of metal. There were silver Copenhagen lids (chewing tobacco) dangling from it in rows. I can't remember if it was strung with lights or not. It was pretty hilarious. I don't dare ask where they got all those lids.
