Comments (4)The vent is not in the cap so replacing it won't help. Newer designs like this model realy don't vent out much if any these days per emission regs, they only allow air to enter. May be the rubber boot sealing the vent is bad. Also consider using fuel from a different station or get some new stuff if using fuel bought a month or so back, even if it was treated with stabolizer. What you're using may be winter grade fuel which vaporizes faster for easier starting in cold temps. When it warms up winter fuel can do this. Need to make sure you are using summer grade fuel now that its getting hot....See MoreTecumseh engine leaking gas in storage
Comments (5)Well, there is no primer bulb so I guess that leaves the inlet needle. I am waiting for a call back to sell this chipper, so the timing is really not good. I guess it would be bad to just put a shutoff on the fuel line (especially if I sell it), but I hate to go mucking with the carb when it seems to be running fine now. If I open it up and check the float, how will I know it is bad? Will I be able to shake it and hear/feel fuel in it? Should I just go ahead and order one with the rebuild kit? Obviously this isn't the sort of thing I usually get into, but I think I should be able to handle it if I have to do it. You may recall I bought the Mighty Mac chipper near you from Dave. I wasn't going to buy this chipper, but I was buying a bunch of stuff from a guy who was moving to Florida and he made me a deal I couldn't refuse. This one came with a tow kit for the tractor and I was thinking that it might be easier to deal with that than mounting the Mighty Mac on the tractor (which is not easy if you don't have someone around to help you). I finally decided that I really didn't want another engine to maintain and the might mac has more power anyway, so I posted an ad for the Tomahawk. Of course now it seems I was right about maintaining another engine. I don't know though, I may have to reconsider the mighty mac if I get personally 'invested' in this chipper. Comments (4)I have a Kenmore Elite that also leaks but mine leaks out from around the whole dispenser. There will be 10-15 little streaks running down the door into the tub. After filling it takes about 3-4 days for it to be empty again so I just stopped using the rinse aid. I was going to replace the part but then I was having problems with it cleaning for a while---seems that started when the rinse aid went bad. Now the washing seems to be better but ONLY if I use Cascade Complete liquid. Anything else and I have all the particles on the dishes again. I had always used Jet Dry then I switched to the Jet Dry Turbo. I also wondered if that was what caused mine to fail although I tried the original since then and it leaks out also. Mine must have a bad seal?? Don't know what to tell you about yours other than just replace it, OR maybe when you empty it go back to Jet Dry and see if that helps. Do you think it could be too full?...See MoreHomelite F2015 trimmer runs terribly
Comments (10)Most 2-cycle trimmers have hi and lo mixture adjustment needle valves. The late ones, like yours, will have 'tamper-proof' heads on the needle screws. You need to determine which of several types of screwdriver will fit it and get one on ebay or wherever. Then you can play with the mixtures to see if you can straighten it out. Typically you'll go 'rich' about 1/2 turn on both which makes it easy to start. After warming up, if the idle is too slow, find which one is the lo-speed and tighten it 1/4 turn. If the hi-speed is '4-cycling' at wide-open, tighten that one up too....See MoreCarla Jones
