My thrift store treasures

I have 2 pictures to show you, but couldn't put them on, I guess they are too big. I still can't figure out how to make them the right size.

I'd like to hear all your ideas on what I can do with this stuff. I was thinking of putting a bird house on top of the posts.

Good haul!! I think the 2 black things are to poke in the ground beside your chair & set your drink in it. I have 2 & that is what they say on the tag. Don't know what yellow thing is. Jan

I think Jan is right about the black things. But my thought when I saw them was tiny totem holders. Have fun.

Someone must be getting rid of their teapot collection. I went last Sat. to the local thrift store and scored 2 more teapots. I love the design. I also wanted to let those of you who have a Dollar Tree in your area know that they have these beautiful colored plates in the store, all for $1.00 each. They would be great to use in totems. I think the bright yellow matches the sun teapot perfectly.

Don't usually brag... but I will about some of my thrift store finds. A Cuisinart food processor, bought in hopes of just having an extra bowl, ended up being larger/stronger model... $8! LeCreueset square grill pan, blue enamel outside (NOT chips or cracks), non-enameled cast iron inside (tiniest bit of easily removable schmutz in ridges... $5! Cuisinart burr coffee grinder & ice cream maker (wish I always had ROOM in freezer for insert)... at website about $50 or more... at thrift store maybe $5 each. BRAND NEW KA digital (7 speed) hand mixer... $69.99 on box... $5 for me. Spend a HUGE amount (for me at least) on a BIG lot of Fiestaware at a yard sale. A dozen dinner plates, salad/sandwich plates, mugs, probably 20 bowls (soup/cereal) and a few extra items... $50. If an item looks CLEAN, barely/rarely used... in box with manuals... and CHEAP... I'm interested. Bought a bread machine at a yard sale... cuz never had on, was curious, and it was still TAPED in plastic in box. Used it for a while, got bored with it, cleaned it up REALLY well, and donated to one of favorite thrift stores. Like they say, one WOMAN'S trash is another WOMAN'S treasure!

Thanks everyone!I had no idea....I just really liked how they looked! This store is full of nice vintage lamps.I wonder what other treasures are there? Forgot to add, I'm the one that also bought that oak barrel table and chair set. They are being reupholstered now and I'll post pics when they are done. Along with my vintage Castiglioni Arco Lamp that I inherited from my mom (that she named George for reasons unknown to me), my basement is turning into quite the swanky pad. Haha! I looked at the link to ebay for the signed book just to see and because I have a few RR autographs one is a book "American Life" 2 are in autograph books from my visits to Hollywood as a young girl and then when I went in my 30s. The link is only for auctions ongoing and what is being asked for a signed book. I went to completed auctions and saw the last one sold for less than I paid for my pre-ordered copy of "Shelters of Stone" when it first came out. I would assume most anything signed by Ronald Reagan would fetch a few dollars if the signature had been authenticated. His own books 1st edition and signed by him haven't sold for that much. His autograph is not rare by any means. He signed autographs as an actor for many years, then signed a lot of the presidential memorabilia for all those years and after his presidency continued to sign autographs on his many books. I have no idea what the yellow thing once was...but to me it looks like a fairy house...I would grow ivy on it and decorate it up as a fairy house. Nice haul...

What a nice selection of "stuff" you got from the TS! I think the yellow "thing" would make a great centerpiece for a table with seasonal decorations and a candle or you could put a birdnest inside with colorful eggs. The wooden posts would be great as holders for teacup and saucer feeders or small decorative birdhouses. The metal type black stakes could be painted bright colors and put in pots as decorative accents (butterflies) and the two with squiggly wire were probably meant to hold votives. Let us see what you do with them!!
