Make the Call: Watering Schedule

The situation:

Front yard (3 zones): TTTF

Rear yard (3 zones): Tifway 419 Bermuda

System: Hunter Pro-Spray 6" pop-ups for the TTTF and 4" pop ups and Hunter PGP rotary heads for the Bermuda

Currently: Watering 2x a week. Zones are receiving varying quantities of water but the tuna can test has given me the info to adjust as needed. (Zones were getting 0.3 to 1.0" per watering.)

Soil: A clay loam under the thin layer of soil that came with the TTTF and thin layer of sharp sand I deposited on the Bermuda. (The clay forms wonderfully smooth, sculptable balls of dark clay)

Question 1: One watering of 1" per week OR Two waterings of .5" per week?

Given the clay situation, I'm thinking that I will have too much runoff trying to get the ground to hold 1" all at once.

Question 2: More water for the TTTF and less for the Bermuda? It's only June and the fescue is already having a tough time. I'm hopeful that deeper waterings might help a little but it's hard to convince me that once a week will keep my grass happy in the interval.

Thanks for any help. Wisdom from the Triangle, NC area folks is extra-appreciated.
