By the way, I am convinced there is enough nutrients in those clippings alone to feed microbes without adding things like Alfalfa meal.

Why did you have to bag it and throw it away?

Was it too long to mulch mow? Even if it was, no reason to throw it away. Grass clippings make a good vegetable garden mulch as long as they haven't been treated with herbicdes. If it was just too long and you were worried about clumping you could always just make multiple passes to help break it up and chop up the grass finer.

I've seen people pile up nothing but grass clippings then after some time of brown out and use it in vegetable gardens and flower beds.

Clippings ,make a slimy, green, rotting mess in my garden - no thank you, been there done that. Come one over and take all you want, as I just throw them in the garbage. You can dry them out on the sidewalk first before you use them if you want.

Yeah, I read that all the time, never seen it though. One of the people I mentioned used to just pile up all the grass clippings each year, never added anything else to the pile, never turned it. The next year it was worked into the garden bed. Never got slimy. They never fertilized their lawn, maybe that has something to do with it.

Before I learned it was better to mulch mow I used to just spread the clipping in the garden as mulch. Never had an issue. Even now I'll bag clippings once in a while to use for that purpose without any problems.

You can make liquid grass clipping too.
