My Junk Yard and Junk bonanza finds

Hi All, I'm back from a week in fabulous MN and the Junk Bonanza. You can read all about my trip and my fab finds on my blog here:

I did get a few things to keep, and one of them was an old sign for my yard. I'll show it to you first then I'll tell you what it probably was before.

I think it is a temporary grave marker. There is a piece of glass in there to protect the paper. It could also be used for a photograph, but I decided to make a Junk Yard sign.

And here are some updated pictures of my Junk Yard, including a new project.

I just got it all cleaned up and put back together after Hurricane Ike. We are inland, but got a day of heavy winds and rain. I was in MN and had to have my son take down all my junk so it wouldn't get blown away. He played the voice mail with my instructions to his friends and they got a big laugh out of it.

This is part of an old street light, mounted upside-down and holding a sun dial (in the shade :)

Hey, I don't blame you at all--I'd leave instructions for my kids to take my junk inside too! What an awful storm! Glad you made it through OK. Sounds like you had a great trip. I'd love to have the chance to go to a show like that sometime! Thanks for sharing with us!

No, not a stripper, she has on a stylish So CA swimsuit, a bit more than a thong. Hey I have GSs that are 9, 9 1/2 and 10 1/2. Gotta be good here. Yes I will say that I paid $4 for it, thanks to Linda for giving the guy the eye to give me a good deal. I thought about using as separate pieces...table legs for a plant stand. I looked at the picture and saw one of those older types of street lamp shades, the ones that were pleated circles. That would make a great tutu. I am thinking about hypertufa quiltglo to make her a garden statue and maybe grow vines up her, lol. Hmm, wonder if either piece would make a good birdhouse, lol. I should be brave and mosaic it.

Saw a bowling ball on Ebay just like yours... vintage wooden bowling ball The owner thought that this ball was over 75 years old. The ball has a circumference of 21." Cool bunny, had to giggle at the blue feet. I love bunny stuff as the gang here knows. Then again, I love most all "stuff" and that is my problem. Need one of those 12-Step Programs I guess. I would have loved to have gone! I will have to mark my calendar for next year. You got some awesome stuff ... love the big gears! And I agree, I bet that was a temporary grave marker, having grown up near an old cemetary, it sure looked familiar! Glad you had a fun and fruitful time!

I've been following yours and the red shed girls adventure thru your blogs, you guys look like you had a blast! what a great lil junk vacation or heaven, whatever you'd call it! I love your blog, hafta go there almost everyday to see what you have cookin' in that creative head of yours! You got some awesome finds, I love it all. That scooter is adorable, as well as the stroller. I love your new gears, you're not selling those are you, they would look spectacular in your home. Glad you ladies got back safely and boy, its a good thing that trailer had a good lock on it going down the road, it was BEYOND FULL!!
