Sure all the time. Just keep your imagination going. Figure out what it needs- to make it look more like what you want. Use your free time thinking of ways to get there. It gives your brain something to do and its all part of the 'creative process'...Keep on working with that one or just think of it as a rough draft. Or walk away from it for a while and do some reasearch and look at inspirational junk pictures. File it for future use in a project or for parts, and start over. Or give it to a friend who thinks it would look lovely hanging in a window.

Boy! have I ever. Ended up tossing it in the trash. I like your heart. Maybe it just a little something more. How about a heart within the heart? It could be a wood heart with a saying on it. Or a duplicate of the original heart. Or a series of hearts within hearts. Endless possibilities. show us a new picture when you get done. Orrrrrrrrrrr how about a arrow across the heart??

It would look great on a moss heart shaped wreath...make one out of cardboard and cover with moss. Or make one with wire and wrap the moss sheets on with wire. I like it. You could put some dangles on the bottom and a bit of the sides and hang it. I like it.

Have I ever had this happen to me? Once, maybe twice, well a few more than that. I like your heart. Like the idea that you used to make it. Maybe one or two more graduated down to fit inside. Or a heart shaped sign with a nice saying on it. Don't be discouraged. Keep working with it and it will turn. It is very pretty.

Constantly! Things often don't turn out how I had pictured them because I'm not so good at visualizing. I do like your heart, and I also like chelcass's idea of a smaller heart or hearts inside...they would look great hanging somewhere where they would catch the light (or, at least I think they would!!).

I don't think there is an artist out there who hasn't been discouraged by how a project has turned out. Most often, if you set it aside for a short time, you will come up with what you need to make it the project that you invisioned in the beginning. Don't be discouraged, just keep it in mind while you are working on something else. I am sure that you will come up with the answer.

I like your heart and think it is simple but charming. I would not change it at all. What I think it needs is to be hung on a fence so it has a background. If that doesn't work for you and you have a mirror you can put in the garden you could hang the heart on the mirror. It just needs the proper setting. Of course you could hang it inside on a mirror, or just save time and send it to me! I have lots of mirrors it would look lovely on. ;-)

"Have I ever been disappointed in "A" project" - nope, not only "a project" but many projects, it's just part of crafting IMO. I've been crafting since I was a child for over 60 years and my goofs are many and well buried. LOL

Thanks guys.. I'm going to tuck it away somewhere for a while and eventually the perfect finish will reveal itself.

I know its not in the perfect setting yet. I was just looking for a good backdrop to get a clear picture.
If I had more red marbles I'd add another layer on the sides.

Well, that's a good idea. You said about adding another layer of marbles on the sides and I've been looking at the picture of your form trying to figure out how to make it wider. This afternoon I was out trying to untangle and old screen door from the grass. It had fallen down and the grass grew up in the wire mesh it has on it, it's stuck so tight I can't lift it up. That stuff would be good. You could cut it to shape and wire it to your frame. I don't know what you call that kind of wire mesh. Very stiff, the holes are maybe 1/2 or 1/4" sq. You have to cut it w/ wire cutters but it would make a good strong frame. If you decide to build another wider one someday.

If you don't like your heart, just send it south! he-he I'd take it off your hands. But I can definitely relate to the way you are feeling. A couple of years ago, I took a class on how to make a concrete cat and mosaic it. Mine turned out to be absolutely HIDEOUS! It is my Frankenstein kitty. I had this wonderful vision of what it would look like but the final product doesn't look anything like it. It's only saving grace is the cute bird figurine I put on top of its head. I guess I'd make a great mad scientist ...

Lots of times!! I made my DS's 1st birthday cake & it ended up with plastic train on it. I was glad it was only family seeing it!! I took lessons on cake decorating & got so I made all the cakes for weddings, showers etc at church. Crafting or decorating is learning how & having a good eye & sometimes even that doesn't work. If you have some 20 or 24 gauge wire & some beads(old necklace that broke etc) you could put about 8 wires with beads every inch with a loop on both sides of bead going across leave center area plain& wire on heart thereby filling in the heart kind of like a spider web but nicer,where wires all meet in center of heart add a couple of 1/2 marbles 1 to each side, Put a wire on top & hang in the wind for a sun catcher!! I was given some afghans to finish by GF's husband after she died. Well, she was right handed & I'm left, normally not a problem only I was supposed to start where I usually end. I had to find friends to make them up & they did & used them. If I had refused them, her hubby would have thrown them away. My crochet looks different but I wasn't going to throw them out. They were more than 1/2 done with the rest of yarn to match. Now they all remember Lora Mae every time they cuddle up in winter. I got some other things I could use & did. So it turned out well. You can use any color on the wires, about 4 beads to each wire, 2 before center(leave free for the 1/2 marble to be glued on) 2 going to far side of heart. About 32 beads total!! I think I would find a pretty cherub figurine, maybe a Christmas ornament and hang in the center and then string several strings of beads with crystals along the bottom edge. It would be great for Valentine or "anytine". A while back I decided to embroider some 60's style owls on some lime green velvet, very retro I thought. I did about 1/2 of one owl and decided it was ugly, I tried to rework it, to no avail. It set around about 3 weeks and I picked it up and threw in the trash. DH couldn't believe it. I have a zillion other projects to work on. I'm with luckgal, bury the evidence. Do you think Martha Stewart shows the ugly screw-ups. Nooooooooooo.....
