dead spots

As some of you know,I have seeded common bermuda. It is doing really well in places I have seeded but in the older stand of bermuda I have brown spots of dead grass. The spots are about the size of your fist. They arent connected unless its an area with many of the spots and then they look connected. I have poured 2 to 3 gallons of the dishsoap/water in different areas to see if any insect will come to the surface but so far nothing and I have done this several times over three weeks. These spots are starting to multiply so I am getting concerned. I have many spider webs in the morning and I can see spiders when I walk across the lawn but I know they arent eating the grass but probably eating what insect is causing the problem.

Any ideas/suggestions appreciated.

John
