Here's a smile for your Friday afternoon...

The little guy on the bottom I got last year just before Halloween when they came out in the Dollar Store. I forget how much they were, but I got him for 1$ because his foot is broke, The pedestal used to be attached to a glass gazing ball that got broke, I turned it upside down and stuck it in the ground. The little guy on top I got at Goodwill last week on half price day for 2$. I really like them as they are more like stone or concrete than the other resin figures I have. Hope they won't break so easily. Don't know if this is where they will stay but this is where they are right now.

After a long and dreary winter, yesterday and today, it was sunshine all day, and today's temperature hit 60 F. I went walking with my coat un-zipped and my cap in my pocket. It was too early see signs of spring in the flora, but animals were on the move. I'm seeing ducks that had dissapepared last fall and the ever present Canada Geese, except some of these geese are migrating flocks, not the local ones. There was a 'silly' robin singing out his territory, and I heard the call of a woodpecker staking out his boundary. I met people walking who ahd not been out much and they all had smiles. This break in the weather also brought out the infirm walkers, those who walked bent over and with a shuffle, some favoring a sore hip, - but all with smiles.

Wonderful Pictures as always!!! Linda, do you have BOP's in your yard? What a beautiful bloom! I've only ever seen them in pictures. I've got a huge houseplant, but I'm not sure it's doing all that great. Huge paws that guy has. Torte Knox!! How funny and creative!

They are very cute. I got mine from the Dollar Store too. There were 6 different ones at the dollar store in my area last year. I got all six $1.00 apiece because that is the price of everything in the dollar store (thus the name) I really wish I had gotten many more because they just keep disappearing from my yard. I hope who ever took them really enjoys them. I have 2 left and they are the ones guarding my front door. One like your top guy and one that is crouched down like he is waiting for me to toss the ball for him to fetch. Once in a while I swear I see him quiver in anticipation. LOL

Those look like brothers or cousins to the ones I found for tenntrash for her Summer Junk Jamboree! And yes they were made of concrete. Too cute. I used to never like gargoyles but now I'm liking them more and more. Waht a great find too and being creative to make it work for you!

Your right! I'm still smiling and try to type. What cute little guys and they couldn't be displayed any better. I'd watch then if I were you cuz they seem to be up to something. haha Punk

How cool that you got them at two totally different times of the year and at different stores yet they look like a matched pair! The bottom one looks like he just told a very funny joke and the top one is trying hard not to laugh too loud. Great display for them and what a great price!

I LOVE them!!! They'd be perfect for my gardyn! I never find gargoyles for $2 here let alone $1. Love where you set them in your garden.

Yep I was really happy to find them Luna, it was one of those things you just grab it and say this is going home with me I don't care if it is full price, and then they were both on sale which made it even sweeter.

Coloredthumb I got mine at the Family Dollar Store. I didn't even know they had them at the Everythings a Dollar Store! A dollar a piece regular price and six different kinds! I'd have had to get them too. That's why I try to stay out of there, lol.

Thanks Cait, that's a wild rose growing over them and some pretty but very invasive weeds around the bottom. I let them grow for a while and have to tear them out before they take over the block.

I just set them there til I could find a permanant spot and they made such a nice picture with the pedestal and all I just had to had to share. I'm glad everyone enjoyed them.

I have one just like the top guy... I keep him in the house though. I have had way too many concrete items fall apart after a year outside. You might want to seal him.
Mine sits at the doorway to my library.
