Tiller repower question, 4stroke to 2 stroke

I have an old old tiller with a B&S 5 hp 4 stroke engine.

Can I replace this engine with a D or F series lawnboy 2 stroke engine? I'm mainly interested in the differences in shaft RPM from 4 stroke to 2 stroke.

From my reading, it appears 3200 rpm for a properly tuned LB and about 3100 rpm for a standard 5 hp B&S engine.

Does this sound right? Fabbing a mounting plate shouldn't be too difficult. I just need to measure shaft length and diameter and make sure it will suffice.
