Bought Shoe Planters: Do They Last Outside?
Comments (5)I saw some other planters that were advertised that said they were made out of fiberglass resin that were designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Are there other types of resin that are used for decorative items like planters?...See MoreShoe Planters
Comments (17)Jane, Your display is adorable. Leveta, Wouldn't it be cute if you painted flowers on your DH boots? ToomuchKathy and LUVS knows how to freehand paint. Leather boots painted to look like the old woman who lived in the shoe. Or a boot could become a Fairie House. A boot could be painted bright yellow with red dots..........See MoreShoe planters?
Comments (17)After doing a search on this forum for shoes and seeing Cindee's Shoe Garden and all the rest of the shoe galleries, I am a little embarrassed to show you mine. All I have is a pair of vinyl boots I found at a yard sale. The rest are old athletic shoes. I still had something else to plant so I dug out an old purse. Then I complained to my DH that I was out of shoes and he dug out a couple single shoes w/o their mates. And later he brought me an old pair of cowboy boots he hasn't worn in years. Boy was I mad when I saw that he had cut off the tops! Dear "sole" that he is - he said he cut them off so they would be easier for me to plant. How can I be mad at him for that! But I fixed him - I put pots in the tops and planted in them, too! We've been on a short camping trip and as soon as we got back Sun nite, I took some pictures and posted them on WebShots. Not much, but its a start. Last nite I remembered another pair - golf shoes he had bought at a yard sale and never wears. I'll add their picture as soon as I get them planted. I'm out of sedum and will try something else in them. Thanx for all your help, Barbara. Here is a link that might be useful: Our Shoes...See MoreMy hot feet hate tennis shoes!
Comments (4)You might consider calling Road Runner Sports (see link). They carry all kinds of athletic shoes, not just running shoes. Their customer service folks are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. They will ask you all the right questions to help you make a selection. They also have an excellent return policy to insure proper fit. I have purchased all of my athletic and walking shoes from them for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Your shoes will probably be your most important fitness item, so don't try to find something on the cheap. You'll appreciate their expert advice. Good luck!
