Pollination can occur from separate male and female flowers or perfect flowers containing both male and female flower parts. Sometimes the pollen is not compatible and the female flowers can only be pollinated from a genetically different pollen source. Wind and insects are the most usual pollinators although bats and some birds have specific relationships with some flowering plants, including fruits. The percentage of pollination and the size/shape of the fruit is frequently associated with a higher seed count in fruits that have multiple seeds. This effect is less obvious with fruits that have single seeds. Temperature and humidity affect the timing and duration of the viability of the pollen and the receptiveness of the stigma. These two factors must overlap to insure pollination on one or multiple trees. Fruits that have multiple flowers produced in sprays, like the mango, usually have a very high percentage of male flowers and relative fewer female flowers with a staggered opening to enhance the potential for pollination. Rain and low or high temperatures can adversely affect the growth of the pollen tube and the development of the seed. Low and high temperatures after pollination can injury the developing seed and cause seed(s) to abort resulting in fruit drop. In a sealed bag there is no difference between the food longevity of a manual or Frost free freezer. Some people are under the mistaken impression that a Frost free freezer heats up the entire compartment. This is untrue. When a Frost Free freezer goes into a defrost mode a small heater turns on directly under the evaporator to melt the frost off the fins and coils. Generally this small heater is only on for about 10 minutes and the coils are behind an insulated wall and is also controlled by a temperature limiting sensor. With the new stand alone freezers using adaptive defrost technology, if you only open the freezer 2 - 4 times a week the freezer will most likely only defrost once a week and again this will probably be under 10 minutes and the temperature increase is behind the evaporator wall. This small amount of heat contained in the evaporator area for such a short period will have no effect on your frozen foods.

It’s similar to false advertising when you say your product can do something and it doesn’t. They should be held accountable. They exchanged my WWH860 for a WXI860 that has similar issues! I don’t understand. Does Miele not test these models prior to rolling them out to the public? As I had indicated, we know they don’t proofread the user manuals as there are very many errors listed. How can a company whose motto is Immer besser, allow these errors and irregularities to exist and still roll the products out to the public?

I have an IntelliFlo VF pump that has worked perfectly for my 19,500 gal. pool since the pump was installed in 2009. Shortly after install, I started using Manual mode rather than either Filter or Feature modes because it gave me complete control over flow rate and energy usage, rather than depending on the computer in the pump to decide what's best for me. I've run it 24 hours a day at about 1,550, which pulls about 204 - 230 watts depending on filter cleanliness. I've been happy with these settings, never having any sort of algae or cloudiness issue despite keeping the chlorine levels on the low side, despite living in Palm Springs where 122 degree highs in the summer are not unknown, and despite having water temps in the very high nineties in July, August, and early September. Accordingly, I'm just fine with the pool circulation 24 hours a day at that flow rate. Recently my electrical company put me into a new plan where the KwH price doubles between 4pm and 9pm each and every day of the week. The obvious response is to have the pump shut off during those hours while upping the RPMs a bit for the remaining 20 hours in order to compensate for the reducing run times. The problem is that I've looked at the IntelliFlo manual and for the life of me I can't figure out to simply run it at, say, 1,650 RPM from 9pm to 4pm every day. Some Filter and Feature settings allow you to set start and stop times, but I just want a simple preset RPM approach rather than having the pump decide on the flow.
