Yes, I see a squash just left of the middle. You can see one of its nearly-round seed leaves (aka dicotyledons). Tomatillos need crosspollination to bear fruit. It doesn't have to be two plants of different varieties (as is necessary with many fruit trees), but simply two separate tomatillo plants. They don't have to be planted right next to each other: in fact, they don't both have to be in your yard, but the bees and other pollinating insects are more likely to get from one to the other if you have two plants in your yard: because who knows whether your neighbors will grow tomatillos this year or not? As to how to separate them: first decide how many of each you have room for and want to plant. It looks like some are still sprouting -- and only one squash so far (?) -- so you might want to wait before proceeding. Then again, the longer you wait, the more entangled the roots will get, and the more seedlings may not survive being separated.... When the day comes for digging, take a good look at what you've got in the pot. Which are the strongest or largest seedlings? Which are growing off by themselves and will be easy to separate? Start with those. Maybe you'd like to mark them with a twist-tie looped around the lower stem. Be prepared to sacrifice the ones growing too close, the smaller ones, the weaker ones, the extra ones. Use whatever tools work -- perhaps a small trowel, maybe a plastic fork or spoon -- to dig up a seedling or group of seedlings. If the clump of soil mix you dig up contains only one "keeper," then simply remove the others (you can cut them off at or below the soil line). If the clump contains two "keepers" which aren't too close together, grasp each side of the soil mix with one hand and slowly pull them apart. If it's a complicated clump with more than one "keeper," hold the clump of soil mix gently in one hand, grasp one of your target seedlings by its stem near the soil mix and gently wiggle it loose from the rest of the clump. If you're having trouble getting them apart, you may want to wash some of the soil mix away (though that can damage the roots). Have some extras. Plant the larger ones in their final location in the garden. Put the smaller ones (or the ones you're less sure of) in a small pot or plastic cup (with drain holes) for extra babying; transplant them to final locations when they're larger and stronger. Particularly if the sunlight is strong, keep the ones in pots in shade until they perk up; it would also be a good idea to rig partial shade over those planted in the ground. Good luck!

Hi everyone! I'm back! I had a little trouble escaping from the asylum, but I finally snuck out. They don't have internet access, darn it! They were afraid I'd go and order another gardenia I guess..and I did! HA! I also ordered (for my mom, must get her into the cult as well) an african 'gardenia'...it doesn't smell like a gardenia, but I love the fragrance..and it's blooming already! HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA... Anyway, I got a "Belmont". The #@$# FED EX driver tried to kill him in transit..I just know he did! Gary told me that he did. But, he's still alive. Oh yeah. Almost forgot. The plant told me that his name is "Gary" and that if I do certain "things" for him, do them without question, that he will actually bloom for me. Oh and give me good lottery numbers. I don't know...he sounds like he's just leading me on. I REALLY want to trust him...but I just don't know. He seems to be rather evasive. He's also got a horrible chain smoking habit. He's already cost me 40 bucks for a carton of Virginia Slims, and he refuses the generic smokes. Here are some pictures..he wanted me to get his 'good' side, but I didn't know which one that was. Here's my MO I also bought some liquid iron with other trace minerals..seems to be loved by my citrus plants and the jasmine too. So we shall see! :D here's the african gardenia, not sure if she is married to gary or if they are 'just friends'. She sure is a show off though, eh? PS: Oh yeah..almost forgot to add this. Remember my first gardenia? Well, it kept teasing me. I was ready to throw it out, it had lost all of its leaves, despite my locating it in the nicest sunniest spot on the back deck, plenty of humidity. Then, when I was going to evict it from it's home, I noticed a GREEN thing starting to come out of the dirt! I couldn't believe it. So, since the soil was dry as a bone...I watered it. I started to hope! Then, I noticed the next day the leaf started turning black. I threw the plant over the deck...it was already dead so it didn't scream. I think I did. After that I woke up strapped to a bed in a hospital. I must have blacked out from my 'grief' or something.

I am so envious of you gals that can just "throw something together" without having a recipe in front of you. My husband always kids me about following the recipe/directions to the tee. I have a friend that always "throws" stuff together and her food is always delicious. In fact, it's way better than the things that I use a recipe for.

Lyfia, I thought about your great idea and stood there and sized up the situation. I think that is beyond my meager capabilities and the chair rail would come right in the middle of it. I wish I'd thought of it before I put up the wainscoting, and maybe then I'd have had a fighting chance at it, but not now. Lukkirish, I will, thanks. Here is what keeps haunting me about this job. I have a leftover (from previous home) partial roll of wallpaper here that I adore, that looks fab with the Mucha. It's an arts and crafts pattern. I just keep coming back to wanting to use this paper. [](http://tinypic.com?ref=2woja78) The problem is, I don't have enough of it for the job, even with not going over the bathtub area. I have looked and looked and can't find anything out there like it. So the question is, could I put up narrow margin molding frames on the upper walls and put this paper inside them, then paint the paper's background color on the rest of the wall? Or the lighter beige\-peach featured in the first picture here? Or with the wainscoting would that look too choppy?
