I have one of these and I've been observing it's peculiarities for some time now. For instance, it's been flowering since spring and seems to show no signs of stopping. When it's ready to ditch the flower spikes, part of the stem will just sort of sever on it's own. This seemed normal to me, until I caught it doing the same thing with the leaves. It hasn't dropped too many leaves, though so I don't think anything is wrong with the plant since some leaf drop is always normal. Just wanted to verify with some of you more experienced gardenwebbbers that this is a normal thing with this plant. Oddly enough, the leaves it has dropped are neither the oldest, nor the newest. Once, one of the leaf stems seperated in about 5 or 6 places, spaced about a quarter of an inch apart which was weirdly cool.
