That is beautiful!!!! I keep looking for beds like that so I can make one but haven't got lucky yet.

LOL the rubber duckies have a purpose. There were screws sticking up out of the posts and I couldn't get them out. I put the duckies on to cover them up and make them look better as well as make them safe. I forgot to put that in my description.

Still there? 2 tips: FIrst, I don't think you really just want to prop it up against the wall. It's going to shift, wobble and just won't look "right." There are pieces of hardware you can get to adhere it to the wall that won't leave huge holes in the wall (in case you are a renter or tend to change your mind). Go to the website www.hangmanproducts.com and look for the hardware that's 2 pieces for hanging mirrors; one piece goes on the wall, the other on the headboard, and they fit together (you "hook" the one on the headboard over the one you put on the wall). A brilliant invention! (No, I didn't invent it! Nor do I have a financial role in it.) Second, the HGTV show "Myles of Style" -- episode about a "Boutique Bedroom" -- showed a very cool, simple upholstered (yes, padded--that's impt for the luxurious, not skimpy, feel!) headboard. She used 3 horizontal panels of a beautiful upholstery fabric in complimentary colors--really beautiful and a simple look. The HGTV site for her specific show has a video of the room (and probably a rerun date for the show itself).

Hi Lynn, We purcased ours at Interior Fabrics, here in Houston. They do have a website, so you may be able to order it from there. We also got our batting from them. They make headboards there, so you could also ask them for the lining fabric they use on the back. Their prices are great -I think Susie paid $7/yard. I looked on their website, and I'm pretty sure the fabric called "Twister" is the one, but they only show it on a white background. I would just call the Houston store and see if they'll just cut it all up and bundle it together for you from there. If you have any trouble, email me. Ya'll are so sweet. I tried the bench in several places before it found a home here. I love my porch. That is one of the things that sold us on this house. thanks for all the nice comments. I would be out there sipping lemonaid, but it's so darn hot and humid. and It won't stop raining. We've had rain every day all summer here in E Tx. Enough is enough.

As always Marge, just gorgeous. That bench turned out so lovely. I just found a really pretty girl's bed headboard, now I just need to get the inspiration to do a bench. Thanks for the great instructions on your site.

That's beautiful! I love how you used the spindles to make the arm rests! And the decorative one on the bottom front of it. That's just absolutely charming! Perfect spot for it,the table and bench just go together. And great job on the stenciling,too.

If you do not have the footboard, just make a regular bench the length of the headboard and attach. Or make a corner bench as shown on the webpage.
