Air layering Aphelandra Squarrosa (Zebra Plant)

Hi,

I have a Zebra Plant (Aphelandra Squarrosa) which I've had for about 16 months, so this will be its second winter with me. I've heard that they're quite difficult plants to grow, so I'm quite proud of it, I've been able to provide it with the humidity it needs and it's growing well (Although it hasn't flowered since the flowers it had when I got it died).

But it's getting very leggy, I know this is known issue with these plants, and I'm thinking of air layering it in spring. (I don't know if its called air layering all over the world, but it's the technique where you make roots grow from halfway up the stem and then cut the stem at that point and plant it).

Has anyone ever done this to a Zebra Plant before?
