Trade for Paw Paw Seeds and Chestnuts

I help maintain a natural area behind a public school. Currently it is a fairly stable and mature oak/hickory/maple forest. I want to attempt to reintroduce American Chestnuts to the area. I would be ok with anything that is majority American - even 3/4 is fine because I think the mature canopy will force vertical growth. I would also like to put in some Paw Paws in the flood plain area. About two years ago I tried this and only 2 of the 10 seeds I got survived.

Please let me know if you have Paw Paw seeds or Chestnuts to trade. I can offer fig cuttings (12 varieties) or pomegranate cuttings (4 varieties)

I suspect you are interested in a commercial variety of pawpaw (Peterson, etc), but if you would like some wild pawpaw seeds I would be glad to trade for some fig cuttings.

Connie -- Are you looking for Southern California Black Walnut (Juglans californica) or Northern California Black Walnut (Juglans hindsii)? There are a couple of wild trees near me. I haven't quite figured out which of the two they are, but next time I go walking there, I can bring a leaf sample home and give it a go at IDing it.
