I tried hatching out quail eggs from an incubator several times mostly unsuccessfully. I did hear that humidity is important. Also I heard you should NOT touch the eggs with your hands or fingers. I had numerous chicks that couldn't make it out of the egg, and also numerous times I tried to help them out of the egg, and they were never healthy. I also had quit a number that hatched, but had deformed legs and couldn't walk right. It was very heartbreaking. I did have 2 occassions where the hen actually did hatch out a couple babies (out of many eggs) and they are the cutest things on earth. I call them bumblebees! Even the other quail in the pen would sit on them to keep them warm. I really enjoyed them. I don't have them anymore and do miss them.

Image with Atrazine is the same as any other Atrazine. Image is a Brand Name. They make several products. Read labels. As far as using Spotlight Herbicide from Dow....well it doesn't control Crabgrass. Also you can't apply Spotlight to St Augustine between March 31st and November 1st. So....what can you do about Crabgrass in St Augustine. Not much. Pull it up if you can and sock the pre-emergent stuff to it again next year. Some say you can use Baking Soda. Doesn't work. Tried it every way possible. Doesn't do a thing. You can apply Atrazine in granular form for easier and more uniform application. If you can get just Atrazine in granular form get it. Otherwise you can use fertilizer Atrazine combinations like Scotts Bonus-S. Instead of pulling it up do what I did once. I walked out there with my Mapp gas (propane will work too) hand held torch and just heated (burned) the Crabgrass plants I could see. Took a few seconds per plant. Easier than pulling them up. It worked. Turns them brown but they will go away. Pulling the Crabgrass plants up leaves a big hole so a brown dead plant isn't so bad for a short while.

In many cases, the color classification of an African Violet will be representative of most everyone's perception. In other cases, however, an African Violet will not be so easily classified. For instance, an African Violet which has been classified as blue may, for some, appear more purple. Likewise, an African Violet which has been classified as pink may appear more red. As a consequence, you may need to check more than one color to find the Violet you are looking for. Note: Lilac and Burgundy Violets Two specific instances of colors which do not fit neatly into the above classifications are lilac and burgundy. For the purposes of this guide, both lilac and burgundy Violets will be found under "Purple." Note: Bi-Color Violets Which May Appear Entirely White Keep in mind that many bi-color Violets are almost entirely white with just a little of another color. This is often the case with African Violets on which the second color appears only on the edge. Therefore, when searching by color, be sure that the white Violet you are looking for is not, in fact, bi-color.

n2lowe - Please know that Aprilaire (one of the major mfr's of whole house humidifiers) has an article or two regarding the misconception of humidification and mold issues. I would assume your HVAC contractor is referencing a steam style humidifier at the cost of $2K. Not certain if your house has a basement or slab, but a basement would allow you a bypass style - a slab you would need a fan powered humidifier which is between the bypass and steam style. I personally don't think you need to spend $2K. Either way, a furnace mounted humidifier will provide you better results versus a portable humidifier. Been there....done that :)
