Flower plate back

laurastheme: In my WIP album it shows the metal flanges which DH primed and spray painted. We used PVC pipe and elbows because we are cheap! The elbows have to have threads at one end and plain on the other end. I used JB Weld to attach the flanges as my LAST step. I put the flowers together with "clear" liquid nails, which has held up well under our Pacific Northwest rains!! The mushrooms are old light fixtures. I covered them and the fairies with resin also to protect from our rain.

Bright: I can get into sooooooo much trouble TS shopping for glassware! :)

Daisy: Elephant ear leaves will be gorgeous but remember, HEAVY! This year I added fake cattails to the fountain.

Purple: Thanks for posting the inst on pics, I'm trying it now and keeping my fingers crossed. YOU and everyone else have been so kind and have made me blush. Added more pics today to my albums and did some "slumming" yesterday so will be able to create more! :)

Oh THANK YOU so much Virgo, I have been playing and can't figure out how to get an actual pic in my message even after Purple gave me inst. Keep trying to tell everyone I'm just not tech savvy! ;)

rock oak, the glass to glass should work with ge silicone ii for windows and doors (clear) unless it is old, or has been exposed to air for too long in the tube. It won't cure if it is too old. Some people use lexel and I might try that because it is actually more clear. Automotive goop is what I have found workd best on metal to glass. But I don't have any right now so I think I used the silicone on my spoons. Kathy

That's a great idea. I've had the same problem trying to find spoons with narrow handles. I will try it now. I'm just wondering if the spoons will hold on some of the heavier plate flowers? Has anyone had problems with them?

Thank you Marlene Daise NonaCook and Concretenprimroses. I am slowly working on the background fill for the second window. So anxious to get them hung up. I bounce back and forth between my glass , house chores ,yard chores and helping hubby in his shop working on the old truck. This is a good thing he has ambition to do things. He just needs help because the chemo induced neuropathy in his hands still bothers him. I never aspired to be a mechanic. He is changing wheels on the old flat bed from split rims to regular. This is a good thing and means I will have a truck for hauling things. So I am not complaining too much. I keep finding bits of garden junk stash in my hoard and adding it all to the flower bed for decor. The plants are filling in a little showing promise of things to come. I had a change of plans in the fountain department. I needed a stronger pump to make water come from the watering can so instead I used a fountain frog and did crystals on the watering can spout. Baby steps. I just need time to be able to go sit in my new little patio area. LOL I need to get some pond plants too.

Thanks for the photo and the info. I looked at PVC pipe. It felt a little flexible so I was afraid it wouldn't hold up well with heavy flowers. I used dowel on one of the smaller flowers. Just experimenting right now. I've used copper and I've used galvanized pipe. I've been using GE silicone for windows and doors mostly, but once in awhile it doesn't seem to want to thoroughly. In that case I do it over with an epoxy. I'm also in the Pacific NW (will it EVER quit raining?). Maybe I'll try liquid nails.

Gottatry...go over to the Gnome Home post. I explained to Lilblu how my daughter showed me to post pix in my posts here. She 14 and knows more about this kinda stuff then I will ever know! In photobucket, be sure you are copying the DIRECT LINK not the other ones. Actually if you click on the word DIRECT LINK, it will automatically highlight it and say copy. Then you can paste it in your post. Let me know if you need any more help. I might not be explaining it right.
