bottle tree - how was this one made?
Comments (18)dcarch,Thanks for grinder tip, GF goes there every week for the free flashlights with the coupon in their ad, they are great!! I carry 1 in my purse. Price is $4.99 if you have to buy it but they keep putting coupon in paper almost every week. It's LED I think is what it is called so really good light, not like regular flashlight & batteries last for very long time, I have 1 a little bigger I've had for a year & I use it for finding things like beads I've dropped on carpet, going out to turn water off or get tool I forgot out back,& we have quakes, could get me out of a building or at least keep from getting hurt on something hanging down. I've never had a flashlight last more than couple of months so these are wonderful & it's like daylight. So if anyone is going to get the grinder, cut the coupon out of the magazine thing or funnies, or where-ever else they hide it, this week it is in the magazine-like paper called U.S. Weekly?? has celebrity happenings inside front page & articles. Comments (13)Ahhh, cape, I just did a couple with insulators (just like your pic) but mine are on the ground...and I don't know if that works or not yet...haven't wrapped the hose around them yet! So with your method, you don't actually use the insulator (except for beautiful decor, of course!) & the conduit spins when you pull your hose??? Is that right? I had a couple of those green plastic hose stakes from Menards or somewhere & the tops got broke when I probably ran over them with the 'Gator or something! So I used pliers and snapped the circle plastic off and fit the insulator on top of it ...tightly & stuck in ground. Hope they work...probably won't be good if I run over the glass insulator with the 'Gator! LOL! I like your plan better! Good luck, soinspired! Comments (45)I have a mesh one that we got free, by going to the ladies house and taking it down. But that was the year Bill was diagnosed with cancer and the started all that hurricane business, and it is still out in the back yard. (I still have shed and porch roofs that need to be fixed.) I guess I will have to get my son-in -law or Brother-in -law to help me--as soon as I get the weeds, etc cleared up after a couple of years of neglect, while I took care of Bill. It's slow going right now!...See MoreBottle tree questions
Comments (8)I'm glad you asked this question Sprout. I have the bottles but no tree, and I'd love to hear about details. Bottles: I like wine, and I like it even better if it comes in a blue bottle, lol. A friend of mine loves reisling which almost always comes in a blue bottle, so when I'm closer to actually making a tree, I'll ask her to save me some. Harvey's Bristol Cream (a sweet dessert wine) comes in 2 sizes. It takes a long time to drink a whole big bottle, but I just know I'll use the bottles someday. There are other "regular" wines that come in blue bottles. Also some fancy water comes in blue bottles. Sometimes I'll buy a bottle of it if I'm having company. I've also saved "bottle green" pretty green colored bottles, but finally gave up and recycled some of those. Kind of silly to keep when I'm not using yet. Other folks have asked at restaurants or bars for bottles. Red is the hard color to find because its expensive to make red glass. Kathy...See MoreDottie B.
