Had my first outing at our big flea market today. So many ideas and so little time. Had one vendor get upset because I took a picture, but most didn't mind.

you have to put the html code in (middle code) for pic to show. Wow, you had a good time. Bet yo got brain overload and good thing you have a camera. At our craft shows, they say no picture taking. I take a small notebook and make notes and write down the booth # or even ask for their card. Then I can tell them I need to know where to come back to when I am thru lookin. that does not bother them as much, lol.

Thank you so much for sharing these pics, they're wonderful. I "had" a wheelbarrow just like your green one for about 16 years. It was finally starting to rot out and I put it to the curb last week. A gal stopped by within an hour and hauled it and half of everything else I had put out there. A fellow curb-shopper, you gotta love it.

Y'all are so sweet. My goodness and what cool photos! I love putting old stuff in my garden. Its a container garden in a little fenced in courtyard. I have old tarnished silver oval platters hung on the wall like mirrors, and I buy old salt and pepper shakers for cheap at antique or thrift stores or on vacation and put a wooden skewer with a paint chip stapled to it in one of the holes and use them as plant markers (Go Sharpie!). They're nifty and some can become pretty cool little garden statues with a purpose. And they're two for one technically! Plus they're cuter than plastic sticks and gives you something to do with all those pretty, colorful (and often waterproof) paint chips you have leftover from that one project. I think putting different items in your garden or among your plants is kind of like jewelry for your garden. Gives it character and makes it fun to look at while you're waiting patiently (or not so patiently...)for the seedlings to really fill in and become plants. Like the post Marcia! Thanks, Sarah

A little more: So cute. Are your framed plane pictures matted? When I look closely it looks like they're either matted or there's a width of frosted glass or something that is not quite as white as the print. If they are matted, and the wall color is staying yellow, I would suggest taking them out and either painting them, or covering them with fabric, to something that will help seed them on the wall a little more. (I've both painted and used fabrics to change the color/texture of matting -- in the end there's no real difference other than the texture that fabric can add). Unless my color is off, I don't think those (look like/white) sheets are going to really tie in with the (looks butter) wall color. Maybe a red/blue/white/yellow stripe, or a plaid or something, or contrast the wall color with a navy or red/white stripe. Though it looks those sheets _would_ tie in to the shades, if you end up wanting to keep those (they look lime on my monitor as well). You could always go with blue walls. :) HTH

Like Steph, that idea would be very easy to recreate by taking a photo you like (or print or printed) and have it enlarged to the size you need. Then deco it on old boards. I know my photo software now provides great stitching for multiple photos. I'm not sure how picky the stores are now for enlarging copy righted prints, they should be but sometimes you can get away with it. I did it once and didn't realize til after, this really is against morals if anything. There are a lot of art books too which you might look through and buy for just the right picture. Or Hobby Lobby and some of the art print/poster sites sell just the thing. Watch for half price sales, coupons, etc. Think too about these art items being sold through catalogs. Once they begin, the item will be available all over and you can buy for a lot less. The big outlet stores will have them start showing up. Did you read the reviews on PB? Looks like you could do a far better job than what the buyers received. Also, oddly this is being sold on ebay for $100 more than PB. Where have all the deals gone? In answer to your first question. I have snow shoes on the wall in the fall/winter. Now playing with antique door plates for a display. Plus art, love it when I find something that keeps a dream going.

Thanks Rosie. That painting is a pleasure for me on so many levels - the crazy coloring, the "art" labeling, the primitiveness... I am way too constrained to create that freely. And then there is the personal - knowing all DH was going through at the time and his very surprising decision to try painting for respite. It inspires me. For the OP, reflect on what is appealing to you about those museum pieces you like. Crystalize that as best you can. Any gallery would be happy to help you discover works you love, for a price. If that price is prohibitive, try 'lesser' galleries, student art shows, resale shops, art fairs - just look and trust yourself to respond. Let yourself make a mistake or two, it's the only way to learn what you really love. And yes, framing can make all the difference.

great stuff thanks for sharing(-: Glad you got to take pictures(-: I guess I see why people mind pictures being taken of their items. Thats the only reason I go to craft fairs is to get ideas to copy(-: Probably why a lot of people go...(-: Most of the prices on items are out of my price range and I can make a lot of the things for real cheap.

I loved the album tour. Thank you! That outhouse shed is a hoot. It's really a fun garden thing to have. But I absolutely fell in love with the patriotic picket fence and decorations! Did you make that? It's wonderful. Also the patriotic old wood toolbox. I've gotten a tool box like that and think I might copy the idea and do mine patriotic too. Those painted windows at the craft show are really neat!

Also, on the flea market stuff, there is a green bench with a bunch of white angel looking things. What are they & what are they made of?

You all inspired me and I have been Americana crazy the last few weeks...You can tell I don't know how to post pictures...lol. The bird house oblisk is a neighbors and was a gift from her Father- in- law. The outhouse is hers also. Trying to inspire my hubby to get on board.. :) If its not a deer, he's not interested.

Now those are cute! And gives me an idea, I made some angels from old spindles and used old screen for wings but never really liked it. My DH bought some picket fence for a miniature village at a yard sale, I think I'll confiscate it and re-do my angels!
