This week was big trash day in my neighborhood. I was riding my bike home from the store and spotted a papsan chair about 5 housesaway from mine. One of you got it in my head that a HAVE to have one for a planter. Well,I rushed home and got the car and 2 minutes later, it was gone. RATTS!! I was so mad I had to cruise around until I found something else. This is what I got. I think these will all be cute around the garden and patio with plants. Im not sure, but maybe I will paint the child's rocker. I was considering bringing it in for the Granddaughter, but the back would need a little repair. Either way its great for the price.

OH, wonderful finds! I love the plant stands, and yes the chair would look great with flowers! Sorry about the papasan, their awful bulky tho, the finds you did find are much better!

Be sure to post a picture when you get them planted..

Oh, how I miss trash day.... We just don't have that around here. Great finds. Love those plant stands especially the round one. The rocker will look great with plants.

Could put a couple of rebar in the ground & some coated wire to hold the lattice panel to it. I had to anchor my arbor that way, I only pound it in ground about a foot & wired it about 1 -18 in. off ground so with the rebar same Hunter green as arbor & green coated wire it hardly shows but it never flips over anymore! Paint your rebar with Krylon "Clay" color & I think it will match,so 2-3 ft pieces of rebar would be plenty in case it is even more windy than our weather, 1 for each corner where hinges are. Jan

Brave girl! It's such fun curb shopping...but I always feel as if somebody is peeking to see what weirdo stops to pick up what the owners think is junk. We don't see many curb goodies around here, but when we do, it's WOO HOO all the way! A friend gave me a brightly-painted wooden high chair last year with a plant in it. I just planted it up for this season and LOVE IT! Have fun with yours!

Been so busy raking leaves that I haven't even started on it yet. I did take one of the handles off and got a good look at it - unfortunately some kind of cheapo metal and most of the original finish (might have been brass plated or painted, can't tell) is worn off. But my husband had a conversation with the woman who put it at the curb when he was walking our dog this weekend. She's had it for a long time but can't remember exactly, guessing 20 years. It was a gift from a friend who didn't need it. But that gives no clue as to age - not that it really matters. Any ideas on what I should do with the handles? They are (or at least seem to be) original. Should I just clean them up and let the worn finish show or should I give them a spray of a metal paint, like bronze? I'm not keeping it, will give it a quick clean up (and light interior sanding to refresh the cedar) and call it done before listing it on CL.

I Am soooooooo jealous ...... we don't have that kind of trash day around here . It's just Garbage pickup ...the rest has to be taken to the dump .

You did find some good items. The plant stands are to die for. We don't have curb junk pickup day here either. Prob a good thing. I have so much stuff now.

wow you did good love the plant stands and textile jo those colors are in this year hobby lobby has them painted those colors and are over $100.00 each piece so gotta make a trip to wally word and get those colors thanks for sharing

Love the metal garbage finds, esp. the tea cart. You'll need to put a clay-pot grandbaby in the rocker for your garden.

Thank you all for the comments on my tea cart.

I used metallic paint that I bought in the craft section of Walmart. I also painted spindles with those colors. I love the look of them in the garden.

What wonderful finds! Isn't it amazing what people throw out? I love the tea cart and the rocker ... heck the little table is great too. lol!

Textilejo, love the colors of your cart. They really make it pop and stand out in the garden.

A tip for curb shoppers ... hang out around apartment buildings. I don't know what it is about renters but they are a very disposable group. I have found some awesome things in the garbage at the apartment buildings where I have lived. Right now I have a really nice chair for planting ... I just need a yard to put it in! he-he I hate to see good stuff go to the landfill so I can be found filling my van with stuff and taking it to Goodwill or other charity store.

That tea cart is gorgeous!! I just got a little table off my neighbors trash,plan to clean it up and paint it.Much better than those plastic tables.I'll post a picture when i get it done.
