Good morning everyone ~ Hope you all have a nice holiday today. It's just getting light out and the temp feels cooler this morning. Time will tell as the day progresses. Enigmaquandry ~ Hurray, another frugal shopper whether it be curbside shopped, flea markets, thrift stores or hand me downs, nothing wrong with that at all. Do you have a blog or album of pictures of your place? Chris ~ Yea, we talked about this table before and I think you're right about it being tramp art of some sort, it just has that feel. Although, I suppose it could have been some 'shop project' 50 or so years ago. I love the scullery too, it just makes me feel happy. I'd have to say our whole house is 'non-fitted', but that's fine with us. ML ~ We are vintage, in more ways than one. :-) This is where we hibernate from the crazy world, and it always feels good to pull into our driveway, to our haven, our home sweet home. Sandy ~ That did take time yesterday morning, as anything does that you want to share on the 'puter. It is amazing what people throw away, their trash our treasure. ML ~ Chris is right, we lost our web host that we had for years because he died suddenly, so I had to find someone else, so any pictures I have had in posts from 2006 until the beginning of this year are gone. One of these days I'll get some more pictures together to post in here. I do show lots of pictures, inside and out, on my blog. I've really been loving our little place more and more and I am thankful for it. I know lots of people wouldn't care to live in a place this small, or like it because it lacks marble/granite counters, stainless steel appliances, etc., etc. It is home to us and for us. I love the color Barn Red...and I cannot find it now! I painted our shutters and a door that color several years ago...surprised that even our Home Depot doesn't have it...they tried matching it with a color I chose from their color chart...Nope, too pink...then to a paint store...I chose a darker color...Nope, it's too pinkish on the shutters...(I painted a small area) Walmart came closest to the color, but still, has a pinkish look...Now, what am I going to do with 2 gallons and a quart of outside pinkish-red paint??..ha Good finds Mojo! and Debbie, I enjoyed looking at your web site.

"Can extreme cold kill them?" Yes, of course. Extreme heat or extreme cold. There are services springing up all over that use temperature to kill insect critters. Some come to your place for whole home treatment and some have you bring items to them. So many people think that bedbugs became extinct in the 20th century due to zealous pesticide use, but they are on the rebound. Research your area. This does not guarantee that you will not rent a place, or buy an item that does not have bedbugs but there are some buildings KNOWN to be infested and I would stay away. I was really shocked when I looked at one of the registry sites to see that one of the towers of thee luxury apartment complexes downtown is said to be infested on many floors, along with one listed for an apartment in one of the other towers (which means they are spreading maybe through the on site health club or pool locker room).
