Check out this yard by me ~~ WOW !

He's an artist - seems like alot of his neighbors appreciated his art and tried to have it legally removed. HE won . I'm glad ! I wish I lived by him ! ( He's in Cudahy,WI ) The car is a '58 caddy - sawn in half and buried .. In real llife - his house is so cool !

Thanks Elisabeth! I have potted the other Anise Hyssop plant that came in the box that was sent. The leaf that came off the other one that the chrysalis is stuck to, I wedged it into a branch so the chrysalis is hanging properly. So the monarch should have room and can hang properly and not damage it's wings. The aquarium is a 10 gal. tank, with a screen lid, I placed in a spot on the lower portion of our deck. It's got a box with stuff in it on a portion of the lid so the lid can't be lifted by any random roaming critters, or blown off by our South Dakota breezes. *g* The tank is in shade all day, so the chrysalis won't bake. :) I am very thankful my middle boy wanted to be an entomologist when he was growing up! I learned so much from him! Hehe! He'll be 18 in feb. I'll post a pic of the chrysalis shortly. I got a better close up to share. ~Tina Marie

No pictures of the Akebia flower..It bloomed in the Spring and the flowers are a Mauve color, very pretty color and has a faint scent, nice but you really have to put your face in the little flower to smell it. I only have one plant and this year it REALLY took off...Maybe it takes a couple years to get going. My banana/palm garden is still a work in progress..We still have to get rid of some of the dreaded Yucky Yucca by the sidewalk, then we're gonna lay probably some large wood chips over the bed..I SO can't wait until next year..All the plants should be bigger..I have lots of other bananas in the backyard around my pond. knotz

Hi, I didn't get to purchase it -- my DS has been sick all day & by the time I put him to sleep tonight to contact the owner, it was gone! Anyhow, it was bad & good at the same time because I don't know where to put the thing. It's beautiful however. :-) and only 200$. Ah well...

I love Luckstone, too, Jodi! ;-) And it ended up being quite theatrical as my grandfather and several of his siblings were on the stage. I called my grandmother Lucky, but maybe Luckstone is a possibility. I thought of Josh and Groban earlier too! I had to give up my orange cat after my mother died. (I was nine.) His name was Rusty. (Very original!) I better come up with something soon because my son keeps calling him Saucers. I can't say I'm crazy about the name. Marilyn, it's true about most orange cats being male, but my Peachy (picture below) is a female. I read that in order for this to happen the mother must be a calico and the father an orange. We have Peachy's mother, a pastel calico. We don't know who Peachy's father was, but now we know what he looked like. :-)

K...thanks for sharing that. I loved all the things he has! Especially the tractor and the car.

We would never be able to do that here...too many HOA's governing the way we live. When we retire, we are moving to Montana or Tennessee.

I think the caddy is the coolest No the Farmall Tractor,,,too much to choose. Some neighbors will always be talking behind your back

Without looking at the pictures I know exactly who you are writing about. When he first started, it was with the car half buried in the front yard, which was an attractive traffic stopper. Now he has created an "amusement" park atmosphere around his house that just looks kind of weird. I guess if I lived in the neighborhood, I wouldn't be too happy about it either. When I'm in the area I make a point of driving by it just to see if he has managed to add another snowmobile with a mannequin on it or to see what the mannequin sitting on the tractor is dressed like (he changes the clothes to coincide with coming holidays).

There is another guy on North Humboldt Ave. in Milwaukee who started out with the car half in and out of the ground. His was kind of cool because the headlights came on at night. Now he has another car in the front yard (which is pretty small to begin with). It is lookin' a little cluttered.

One of my favorite houses is on 43rd and ... I think it is Cold Spring ... in Milwaukee. I swear (but don't know for certain) the people were hounded by building inspection to paint their small ranch house so in protest they painted it purple with huge flowers on the sides.

Oh yes, I forgot about those huge pigs! I see the picture of the tractor must have been taken around Halloween. I never saw his backyard (with the phone booth, etc.). Egads, it's worse than I thought! lol!

Fun to look at, but to be honest, I can understand some of the neighbors' concerns. (Ducks rotten tomatoes.)
