Olga, was wondering how (so far) Incantation is working for you, as far as fragrance & disease resistance, or is it too early in the season to know? May be-so far for me the most resistant rose is arguably MIP, and it would seem this would not be the case over the long run. If not Incantation, what may your thoughts be on the gallica "Aimable Rouge"? Have heard varying feedback on its fragrance & disease resistance (my main criteria), so was wondering how it would work on the east coast, since the minimum Rouge Valley Order is 3 (4?), and so far I am only decided on "Umbra" and "Mariannce" (though I will want one gallon and it appears they only presently have bands).

JUDYDEL!!! I have been just grazing GW for the last little while - it has been crazy busy and now we're on holiday. Yup, with very little internet access, I am spending my time catching up on GW rather than checking my emails :-) The stools look GORGEOUS - and I am so glad (and relieved!) that you like them. I know it was a long wait. Now that you ask I guess they do rock a little - but after using them for over a year now, it's not something I notice (I asked DH if he thought they rocked and he said no). So, hopefully it is not something that bothers you too much. We do still love them, and they look super in your kitchen. Remind me - have you done a full "reveal" yet? Your kitchen is one that I know many GW'ers would love to have the deets on. Thanks for sharing - I have been wondering about you and those pesky stools....:-) Eliz

I did a lot of this as we tweaked our house plan. I needed a place to work. I take calls in the middle of the night a few times per week with Japan and Germany (3 region, USA is always near midnight). Because of sound transfer, I needed an office that was not located adjacent to sleeping areas. It shouldn't be near any thing except a powder bathroom. The den landed in the foyer area, and has doors that fully close. It is buffered from the rest of the house. We both work full time. To keep up with laundry I start a load in my washer on a 9-hour time delay on my way out the door in the morning, then flip it into the dryer when I walk in in the evening. I fold and put the laundry away right before bed. To eliminate needing a lot of storage space for clean clothes I put a door from my master closet to the laundry room which is a mud-room from the garage to the main living space. I go out and come in through that space which fulfills my need to do laundry ALL the time, and I can put clothes away directly into our closet or hang them as they come out of the dryer with only a handful of steps. The only clean clothes I have to "store" are for the kids. They take their clean laundry up daily after school as they walk through the mudroom to the main house after school. No stacked up laundry! We both cook and tag team dishes "as we go"... clean up and prep / cook zones do not overlap in my kitchen at all. This meant putting the dishwasher in a spot that was ill-advised on the kitchen forum but it is really working out well for the way we live. My sewing closet... case in point!

They are taking them back. She couldn't say when another pair could be delivered so I'm not going to try and get them to make another pair. They've also said that when I get the black ones tomorrow, if I'm not happy they can go back too. I strongly expect that they will. The other thing I've noticed on their site is that you can read reviews, but you can't post one. And they don't have many comments on their FB page, just thumbs up and hearts. So if you're thinking about Poppy Barley and can go in the store to try on the thing you are going to buy, give them a try. I'm disappointed to say I won't try them again. Bummer - too - because I have so little opportunities for tall boots because of my large calves (on a size 10/12 body). Moving on.....
