I don't understand what she means by that. How do you cure it?

Probably means, just let it sit and dry inside the house....heck, I don't mind snow globes!lol!

Even if it dried, condensation will just occur again, that natural atmospheric chemistry. Shaking head at that one...? I had a garden ball that all the silver disolved and so I could see inside it and it constantly would have moisture inside, but it had moisture at it's base. So this silicone glue that you ladies use if sealed all the way would prevent that. But not all of it, because air has water vapor in it and what ever air is sealed inside would condense under intense heat, also may explode.

I can see that there would be some people who would be tempted by a "pristine" interior to their totem and would think condensation detracts from that. It's interesting that this woman has found a new angle on why we should buy HER totems vs. buying from someone else or making our own. Isn't that what advertising is all about...to attract us to a specific product? LOL! Actually, I kind of applaud her creativeness for her attempt to make her totems stand out, KWIM???

I DO wonder what "curing" means...and why it takes 30 days, however! TFS the idea and this lady's word-smithing!

Heck, I don't have the room or the patience to let my totems cure. Besides, they would still most likely get the condensation after they've been outside for a while...that's just part of the garden magic, right? I leave mine inside for about a week before I put them out, but that's about my limit. So far, so good.

Folks they would get condensation no matter what...that's just plain physics!

oh heck, bet you could put in one of those itty bitty 'sachet' things that come in the shoe box, when you buy new shoes or a purse...lol

or...I bet if a hole was drilled somewhere near the top of the two pieces that were attached, then air could circulate and the condensation would dry up, after the sun came out..

a tent does the same thing, when you go camping.

Wow. The whole concept of leaving inside for a time is new to me. I made my one and only partially inside but assembled on the spot out doors. Prefer to make plate flowers outside too.

mine are all full of condensation, the ones that get more sun have more condensation that the shaded ones..nothing to do about. i live on the gulf and sometimes have humidity at 110%..it gets worse.

I was almost going to mention the 'desicant' packs earlier, but afraid about the toxcity if it leached out. As mentioned previously...it's just plain physics, you could drill a hole through the bottom of each piece to the entire unit would always drain.

I always leave mine inside - but it's always been to let the caulk harden. I dodn't think there's any way to get around condensation in a cooler , damp climate. My solution is not to use clear glass ....LOL

One of our gals from our forum sells those totems on Etsy. She has made some pretty cool ones. I say good for her for spreading the art form! :o) She has a beautiful blog.

My totems have condensation but it makes them look magical! :o)

I guess I'm different - I think Condensation ruins totems. When it happens to mine ...I'm devistated . I'm ready to throw them out . I guess it'd just my preferance.

I use a lot of glass that has texture in it, so that the condensation doesn't show much.
but I don't really mind it when it does get inside- but I thought maybe someone may want to try it.

Here's few I;ve used-

Water condensation:
Water condensation is related to relative humidity of the air, temperature, and air pressure.

When a surface is cold enough to reach "dew point" condensation occurs.

To minimize internal condensation, you need to wait until a very hot and dry day and completely seal the container. You can also include a little dissecant inside.

Another thing you can try:

You can get a polymer coating to coat the inside of the container. Water will sheet down and not bead up to form condensation. Durashine is one of the polymers people use to treat their cars so that there will be no water spots.

Regarding "curing," the GEII is actually a caulk that requires curing rather than drying. By allowing it to cure in a "controlled environment," the seal will be more stable. It is similar to concrete needing to cure rather than dry. If you'd let it cure outdoors in a hot, sunny location, it is possible the seal adhering the pieces won't be fully stable and could eventually fall apart. If you have ever seen concrete that wasn't properly cured, it crumbles and cracks. The GEII would do something similar.
