Silver Edge Squash

Has anyone grown this squash?

I received a single seed for it in a swap earlier this year. (it is a bueatiful seed...shiny pearly white with a greyish/silver fuzzy edge)

I had a difficult time getting the seed identified but after weeks, finally got the ID.

Supposedly it is a rare Native American squash grown for the large, tasty seeds.

I dont have that much experience growing squash so I was afraid I would kill it.

Ultimately the vine was about 12 feet. There are pretty 'splashes of silver' on nicely shaped leaves.

A single fruit made it to harvest. Over a dozen small ones died in the frost. I wondered about eating the small ones but some sources say the flesh isnt palatable.

The mature one is oblong/pear shaped, stripes of yellowish and orange, somewhat bumpy texture, about 15 inches long.

I havent cut it open yet. Hoping for a number of lovely seeds to grow and share :)

Would love to hear from anyone that has experience with these.

Thanks
