Squash leaves turning yellow on edges, then brown and dry

I'm growing an Everglades Pumpkin Squash this year, for the first time. It gets plenty of sun and water, and the fruit (once I learned that I needed to do manual pollination) seems to be just fine. But the older leaves on the plants, around the two mounds I have built up, keep dying away.

First they completely turn a lighter shade of green, then a bit of yellowing appears along the edges. After a couple weeks, this begins to turn into a dry, brown dead leaf until the entire leaf dies and I just pluck it off. I see no "saw dust" or other signs of bugs.

What could be causing this? One of my neighbors recommended adding epsom salt to the soil next time I water.

Thanks!
