questioning variety of strawberries and how to renovate

My strawberry bed is three years old. I bought what I thought were 8 everbearing plants - I think they were labeled Quinalt (sigh-I need better garden journaling) at one of the better nurseries in town. 1st year plucked blossoms, runners formed and several new plants grew. Did not prune/mow. Second year we had a 10 day period in mid-June where there was a small bowl of berries daily. More runners and new plants. no blossoms or fruit later in summer or fall. Did not mow. Mulched with straw over the winter. This year (the third year) in late-June we had about 10 days with 1-2 pints per day.

So, I wonder if we have some June bearing type of strawberry and not an everbearing, given the harvest and the strong runners. I read that June bearing should be renovated with removal of leaves by hand or mowing, but that everbearing should not (??)

Maybe this is what happens in my region to "everbearing"??

Thanks for any advice! Rachel
