West facing Window box help please
Comments (0)I'm in zone 6 and have west facing window boxes that are 2.5 feet wide, so they aren't that big. I know potato vines do well in them but I find it challenging to find flowers that do well in the afternoon sun and small quarters any suggestions? Thanks!...See MoreWindow Treatment for front-facing window over stairs
Comments (11)Well, they'll probably climb up on the bench! If it's mostly daytime privacy needed there, you could also look at reflective film. It will block the view inside as long as it's brighter outside than inside. So at night, if you have lights on inside, people can see through it on the outside. If you have a bright porch light, it might provide some reflection, even at night. Here's a window similar to yours with the frosted film only on the bottom panes. Reflective film would be less noticeable....See Morewindow coverings for a downtown condo facing a parking garage wall
Comments (4)Great recommendation. Another option with top down bottom up would be a Solera Soft Shade - a hybrid between honeycombs and a roman shade. Other option would be a modern Designer Roller Shade in a semi-opaque fabric. This option down not come top down bottom up but can allow light through and hide the ugly view on the other side of the window....See MorePlease help with paint color for ceiling and walls. North/south facing
Comments (2)Looks like a charming home. If it faces south then look for cool colors. If north, then warm colors. I like a light blue for the ceiling. But the ceiling looks busy now with the small strapping. Could you sheet rock it to fill in between the beams? I would get more substantial drapery treatments. The sconces look too small; need taller ones. Move the furniture around for more functionality. Too many lamps. How about an area rug?...See Moretapla (mid-Michigan, USDA z5b-6a)
