Parts list - balancing man birdhouse

The following is a list of parts used in the creation of the balancing man birdhouse.

1. The hat was made from a round piece of scrap metal welded to the exterior portion of a table lamp socket.

2. The ears were made from a large washer cut into two pieces.

3. The nose is one half of a bicycle handlebar clamp

4. The eyes are two pieces of ½ round, clear glass, buttons with two pieces of ½ round black glass beads. They were attached to the head with GEII silicone.

5. His mustache is made from two 3/8" lag bolts

6. The neck was cut from the curved section of bicycle handlebars

7. The head and the body are three small green propane cylinders.

8. The hands were fashioned from four 8d nails and one ¼" rod welded to a round metal slug.

9. The umbrella crown is really one half of a fen protection screen.

  1. The umbrella handle is formed by a spring from a reclining chair and a ¼" piece of scrap rod.
  2. The belt was created by attaching a square link from a chain to an automobile timing chain
  3. The buttons are ½ round glass beads
  4. The legs and arms are sections cut from two golf clubs
  5. The feet are the head portion of two golf drivers.
  6. The balancing pole is a 10Â section of electrical conduit
  7. The patches on the body are painted on to conceal the pressure relief holes in the cylinders.
