Did Gardens Grow around Your Junk?

The recent thread featuring weirdgardens.com and judyland.com reminded me to look back at some photos. Two years ago at Judyland, the Junk Objects in the Garden were most prominent. Today's Judyland features Junk hidden among lush foliage as the garden has grown.

Please post 'before and after' photos if you have them, showing how the Garden has adapted around your junk.

Looking good over there at Foxes Earth!

That sago really took off, looks wonderful. What is growing up your arbor? And the name of the rose????

(and no, I will not be planting roses....but I love to admire others! LOL!)

I'm ready for spring, and have lots of new junk to share by the time the weekend is over. I'll post some pics, cause I really need help on placement and function!

Hi, Zooie! LTNS.

The red rose was supposed to be 'Cl. Queen Elizabeth' but it appears that the graft died and the rootstock took off. I just didn't have the heart to dig and toss it. At the far end is Cl. Peace and it is very pretty when it blooms:

I've always loved the little blocks, I've think I saved a pic of a little lamp made with them on it. Susie's idea of No BS made me laugh out loud! Too funny. Love that little bear sign, seems that Sandy found the perfect thing for Kirk and Carol. I think several of us could use a No cure for collecting sign or a Hoard and collect one. craftylady, sorry to hear of your calamity. We have had rain off and on all day here in MO, but no storms in my area anyway. We do have more than our share of tornadoes and I hate storms, also. I had to chuckle at the title of your thread,though, cause sometimes garden junk CAN get just a little too junky. Last year, high winds took down our outside canopy, but I salvaged the iron work and made a nice fence with arch to divide a section of my yard. We got another one this year and I'm holding my breath everytime a breeze blows.

Kirk & Kelly...don't give up on GS'ing for a turbine...after seeing the beautifully painted one by mzclassic in FL, I knew I would like one...took a yr or so but got mine for $5 at GS! frou & marlene & Nantricia...thank you..& I like that garden saying, frou! marlene...I'm hoping our paths cross some day in RL...luv the projects you & DH do tog, too! Hello... I am long overdue to start creating a garden workspace and organizing all my garden junk. I thought I would resurrect this old post and see if anyone had any more to add to it. I could start a new thread if that is a better idea? So....I have too much junk scattered all over the place..the basement, the garage, seeds in my bedroom...lol. I am sure you get the picture and perhaps there is someone else out there who has the same problem. I just don't know where to start, it is a little overwhelming. What gives me the most trouble? Large containers 22" and where to put them for the winter. Large bags of potting soil or soil amendments....storing and having easy access to them. POTS! Having tools handy when out in the garden without making 10 trips to the garage for something I forgot, yet not dragging everything around with me. Leftover materials from past projects...a pile of broken pavers, a small pile each of stonedust and pea gravel. The COMPOST BINS! I need to get them out of sight. We have a small yard. I was hoping to create an area where I had everything garden related so it is not in a number of different places. My problem is the only area available is on the side of my garage but the main entrance to the backyard from the front is there and you would have to pass through my 'workarea' to get to it. I really love a pretty organized, neat area anyway....I am just not coming up with creative ideas for what I have to work with to make it that way. If someone has had similar issues that they have resolved successfully, I would love to hear about how you did it. I know....LTNS!

I've been traveling all over this WWW, and decided to take the long road home....LOL!

I swear, I don't know how you manage to grow such beautiful roses in your climate! I've always admired you and Janie for being able to pull that off! I wasted more than enough seasons on battling RSV, BS and those ***** aphids, I just gave up, and rely on eye candy like your pics!

I can't wait to post pics, new digi, so I'm still learning the software. I've got new iron gates, a few mailboxes, and birdcages. Lord knows what I can do with them. But first, I need a spring cleanup before I place these goodies in the garden.

The past year has been crazy, and flew by before I realized it!

You'll be seeing me around more! :)

So glad to see you Zooter. I have missed you.

I have to look hard to see what is left here after the bad freeze the other night. A lot really got hurt, we will see what is tough, and what is not.

In the meantime, I will take some pictures of DH's new project, and I will post them tomorrow.

DH and I went to the dump today.

We found a great GO CART! LOL, he about had a heart attack when he saw it. It is a good thing I had nothing in the truck yet, there had to be enough room for the go cart. I asked if we could fix it for the DGKs, and he said "NO!" He said "Mine, mine, mine!" LOL, we will let him have it.

Zooter, I have a lot of birdhouses hanging in the shade house, over the hot tub. That one of yours would just look good................

A GO CART?!?!?!? Now, Bobby knows you have plans to use that sucker as a planter! LOL! I hope he has a ball riding around in that thing :)

Cool that you have your birdcages around the tub. If I don't find something neat to use this baby, guess I'll have to pack it on up and send it down your way! ;)

Good to see you too, it's nice to be hanging out at Yard again!
