Your totem looks good in ice!! I think our typical Michgan freeze/thaw cycle might do it in! Hope not, it will be an interesting experiment!

hey, I am in sunny So. CA. And after about a week at around 30 at night, some of my plants bit the dust....orange tree, lemon tree, azalias, several 'house' plants that overwinter out on the south patio near house. Many of my succulents are not mush. Oh well, can replant those easily enough. But the azelia bush turned into tree that I braided up and up...looks like it may not make it...7ft tall gone. But as they say, do not touch until spring to see if they come back out. Of course, roses do fine. Prune now and beautiful flowers in summer. But, that totem does look nice. It would look nice in the middle of summer...know anyway to cover one with ice like crystals for coolness...maybe one I messed up or is not pretty. LOL.

Yeah, Hazie, c'mon - show us your pic. I LOVE your garden winter scene. Glad to hear it is holding up. Anxious for spring too, but it means less time mosaicing, cuz I'll have to work outside LOTS.

Very jealous of Slow, Rose, Jane & Klinger's Mexican adventure. Swear if I had the money I'd be with you gals mosaicing my wingding off!! Love Mexico and it's been years! Mexico is one big inspiration if you ask me... so many crafts - eye candy that will make you dizzy.

I left my totems outside too and they all seem fine. Its been down to 22 degrees here and no snow but just cold and rain. SO far so good(-: I love the your winter pictures tasymo(-:

Oh my, you are a brave woman! Please let me know how you did. I didn't have much 'junk' (aka treasures), but did bring everything in. We get such swings in temperatures here and I fear things might not look the same come the spring. Just last week we went from +11C down to -22C in 12 hours, and then back up to +3C the next day. That would amount to going from 50F to -5F for the first temperature swing!

I do have some mosaic pieces which have held up for a couple of years. At this point I don't dare touch them for fear they will crumble into the smallest of pieces. :)

I don't leave my BBs outside during winter. I learned my lesson there. I left a couple of them outside the first winter. One of them cracked and split really bad and the other one started popping marbles all over the place as soon as the weather started warming up. And I mean they were popping! When I first realized they were coming off I couldn't figure out why I was finding the marbles several feet away from the ball. I happened to be standing next to the ball one day and one marble popped off and landed several feet from the ball! So now I bring all of my BB's inside during the winter months.

Twomonths, I live in NW Florida and we have freezes every year and azaleas do ok here. We have already had nights at 26 and 29 degrees, and the azaleas are fine. If you have another freeze tho, just throw a cloth cover over yours. Maybe with a strand of Christmas lights under the cover. I have used a plastic table cloth with flannel lining sometimes. DON'T cut ANYTHING back until spring. Maybe only the leaves are damaged.

The iced totem looks really neat, I like it. I was just telling someone the other day about your beautiful blue bench and how'd I'd like to make a few myself. Here in MA we finally got the cold weather and some light dusting of snow - hope it ends soon, had enough already.

Makes a beautiful sight to see,doesn't it? I'm not sure how cold it would have to get to hurt my old junk,but so far,everything is holding up well. The problem I have is with mildew on some things,and I will bleach things up sooner or later. We've had quite a lot of rain,and it's mostly humid here. I was worried about my mason jar luminaries hanging from the tree,but I made sure I kept the lids on them,so they didn't fill with water and freeze,and they've held up very well.
