It looks fine to me. It's a little deep in the pot, could be higher but no big deal. But don't go filling in the pot with soil, you would have to repot i to raise it.
The leaves are a bit long and narrow IMO but could be the type you have or lighting. I see new growth, so just keep doing what you have been doing.
Maybe a couple of dried leaves but hey...plants are perfect.

To be honest, to my eyes the plant looks like it's languishing rather than thriving. Do you know what I mean? It almost looks wilted, or the leaves are simply flaccid for another reason.

I'll bet that if you repotted this plant in a good, porous, fast-draining medium and improved it's water and fertilizer regimen, it would respond beautifully.

I agree with Rhizo, It doesn't look like it's happy. It looks like it's also getting too much light. They like being in sunny spots, but shaded during the heat of the day. It also looks like it could use a repot, but only one size up. Also take it out of that catch pot or prop it up where they can cascade without hitting the edge of the pot. Remove the yellowing segments, and a good trim of the first segment on each stem will cause it to bush out more from lower stems. A tiny bit of epsoms salts may help those yellowing leaves. It also needs to be fed weakly at least twice a month with an Azaelea, Tomato, or other acid type fertilizer.

Yip, I'd get it out of that pot too. The stems seem kind of whimpy, weak. But I will agree, don't put it a bigger pot or fill that pot with soil, it looks as tho it could do well in about a 4-5" pot max.

I just repotted mine and I used the basic 1 part soil, 1 part orchid bark and 1 part perlite. It is good stuff, drains well, stays moist, not wet and is nice and loose.

Bright, not direct light. Stop fertilizing in September and decrease the water as it will be going into dormancy.

You don't have far to go to get it growing into a healthier plant.

Josh, these plants (any houseplant) can be perfectly healthy and happy if grown indoors at all times. Find the right location is important, but plants don't need to summer outside.

Mine never do.

Josh, where do you get it needs more light when some segments are obviously burned from too much sun?

Rhizo, I don't believe I said that plants have to summer outside. In fact,
last summer was the first summer that my CC spent outdoors. What a
difference in vigor, though!

Mentha, where do you get that it's sunburned? I honestly don't see that in
the image, which isn't terribly clear. If the issue were sunburn, I'd expect
that the tender new growth would have been blasted, too? I guess a clearer
picture would help.

Ok Josh,
I'm going to take back my statement that it is burned, but I'll tell you why I said it, after trying to look at the picture again it could be that a tree outside is causing shadows on the stems in front and the one in the center of the pot? There is a burned stem right dead center front, probably got burned by the pot getting too hot, and the stems to the left of it have yellow spots. There are a couple stems right inside the pot which could be yellow also. The segments could use a little plumping up, though.

Maybe if the poster could tell us why she suspects why it is ill, we could get an idea of the health of the plant?

I did notice that one very visible "bleached" spot, but I thought that might be from too much moisture.....which might explain some of the yellow color, as well. My thought was that the plant would have more color - not less - if it had been outside, or if it had gotten too much sun. Too little light could cause a limp plant. Too much heat could cause a bit of wilting, too....but the leaves should perk back up once the plant is in shade - (which is why I wondered if the plant had been outdoors and brought in for the picture).

We all seem to agree that this plant is *mostly fine*....but we do have questions about the cultural conditions this plant receives. And, most importantly, we're wondering if something that you're seeing *in person* (that we can't see) is causing you alarm.

I have seen the dry faded light yellow/beige color crumpled leaf segments on mine once when it got very dry and underwatered. I think the heat here in socal fried them.
When mine gets too much sun it turns purple.
I thought the elongation of the leaf segments might mean it wants more light

it's not elongated from lack of light, that's they way they look outside here in full sun with only a weak shade cloth to protect them. It's over 100 degrees, and as long as they are watered regularly the do fine, no purple or yellow at all. They only show colors when they are stressed or need to be fed.

Interesting to see how many different opinions one plant can generate.

Mentha, perhaps Xcacti are different but many plants -- particularly orchids and succulents develop a purple/red cast when growing at the upper end of their light limit. Growing them at that point is not necessarily a bad thing.

Bleaching/burning, at least IME, general occurs when such limits are exceeded or, even more commonly, when plants have not been properly hardened off. I do see the one bleached/beige spot I believe you are talking about but if the plant was getting too much sun there would be more than just that one spot affected. So I would have to disagree with "too much light"

I also don't believe I would up the pot size. However, a number of the segments do seem to be lacking in "plumpness". I would suspect a watering issue -- either insufficient watering, or too much water resulting in root loss.

When and where did you get this plant? I'm wondering if it is an heirloom plant. They are not as robust looking as the modern ones.
