We have a fine but quickly falling snow here in NH. I've got to go out and shovel in a bit. I love snow, but I guess its expected to turn to freezing rain later :( That's not so good.

If it would snow and not lay or lay only on grass that would be great...Nothing like falling snow to feel christmasy...

I have my ceiling fan on here and patio doors open wide!. Today I watched as Butterflies joyously collected pollen ,
a bee tried to hitch a ride on my pant leg, flowers gave off their magnificent fragrance and birds sang sweetly.
Better you than me!!!!

Yikes! So much ice here that trees are falling on powerlines. 320,000 households without electricity in the state. We are fortunate that our town is not too badly hit. Electricity was out briefly in the early morning hours and the road up the hill is closed due to lines down. Some people won't have heat until next week. I walked to work today, dh did his usual 60 mile trip to work. Dh volunteered us to winterize some elderly peoples homes on Sunday. Hope their electricity is working!

Keep it down there, kudzukween! We have enough of it up here in Wisconsin. It is pretty on the trees and on the grass but it sucks when it is on the roads, sidewalks and cars! Nothing like being behind a semi on the freeway when the snow on top of his trailer comes flying off on your windshield and scares the bejesus out of you! I want to move in with goldenpond!

I feel bad for you who are hating the snow, it's got to be hard to deal with on a daily basis, I know I'd hate to have cold wet feet all the time. I can remember visiting Ohio in May and seeing snow...I was NOT prepared for that!
It just doesn't snow here, and the only white stuff we normally get to see is sand! It'll be back in the 70's before you know it, LOL!
My grandson says the teachers let them look out the windows, but he wasn't impressed, after all, he grew up in Washington!

Ahh, kudz, you made me LOL this morning! We don't have cold, wet feet...we wear BOOTS!...said with a :-)

And, not all of us, "hate" winter...oh, talk to me again in late Feb. or Mar (I'll probably change my tune)...but we love the winter gardens here also.

What we do hate around here is the ICE...concreteprimrose...glad you are making it ok and keeping all those others in prayer. Keep that DH safe and off the roads when you can! Jeanne S.

News said 1 million out of power up your way, hope not!! Do you have some backup heat like fireplace or potbelly stove??? We burned fuel oil. Imagine you have natural gas by now. What ever you do don't light BarBQ in a house, every year someone does that out here & everybody dies from fumes & lack of oxygen, also candles burn out lot of oxygen so if using them be sure in large room with other doors opened & never go to bed with candle lite, my son woke up to find whole dining room full of smoke & he had to repaint & repair all the smoke damage- house had just been painted month before.So be safe!!! Doubt anyone tells young married folks these things!! Love your yard in the snow Jeanne, looks so different from ones I remember it was usually hard pack snow that you could walk on top of & just once I remember the branches of tree hanging down with ice & breaking. Make a lot of noise. Lady on TV tonight said it was like a war zone with all the trees breaking. I can imagine. Jan

I saw pictures of the snow down south on the various news channels. It looked so beautiful on the southern architecture. We got dumped on yesterday and last night. It was beautiful this morning. I spent the day plowing out. Now I hear we're in for a major cold spell with the lows getting down to at least -15 degrees in the next few days. Brrrrrrrrrrrr! I bet this cold front will affect some of you as well. I'm sure we'll definitely have a white Christmas here in the Pacific Northwest. Did you know Bing Crosby grew up in my hometown, Spokane, which is about 25 miles from where we live? "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas..." Bear Hugs! Kirk

Can you believe that they bring refrigerated trucks down to Dallas that are full of snow. That is the only way that we can see snow here during Christmas time. They pile it up and let kids play in it. Last year it did snow for a day in March. That's it.

I grew up for a time South of Chicago on the Indiana side. I use to ice skate and enjoy beautiful cold winters. As an adult, responsible for the shoveling and defrosting the car, I would see it in a different way now. But I really love seeing the gorgeous pics from Kirk and Jeanne and all. That is beautiful country-lookin' snow. I remember how dirty the snow gets when it turns to slush. And then if it freezes during the night it makes the roads bumpy. I ice-skated down the middle of the bumpy roads all the way to the frozen pond in the park.
It is a beautifully unique experience that I would like more of. I've never forgotten the joy of ice skating.

It still looks like fall here. :(

The ice was so beautiful especially with the sun shining through it. But its hard on a lot of people right now. I'm so relieved that my 80 yo mom has power. We have a wood stove which is now in the basement (hooked up), so we could use that if we had too. Several people have died from running generators too close to their homes. Dh and I volunteered with a statewide group & weatherized several elderly peoples homes today. The kits we were given included high quality carbon monoxide detectors - very important!

OH Jeanne how BEAUTIFUL!!!! I love seeing the snow, but hate the roads getting bad. My dh has to get our granbabies out and bring them here for us to watch while she's at work. She usually has them here by 4:30am. That is a concern for me. If it wasn't for that I'd love it....

There's snow in western Washington (as opposed to eastern Washington where Kirk lives). Temperature has been in the 20's here today. Unusual for this side of the mountains. Forecast is for the teens over the next couple of days. Glad we didn't have to get out in it today except to walk to the mailbox to get the Sunday paper.
