Looking for a low light ground cover style houseplant

I've been growing spearmint in a window box that isn't really in a window. It's in a display shelf under a 30 watt flourescent setup that is about 18 inches above it. It's doing okay but it needs like almost 24/7 to grow. Is there a ground cover style houseplant that would do well here? I was thinking Baby Tears perhaps but I can't really find any growing instructions on it. I need something that is suitable for deep shade growth to insure that it gets plenty of light and preferably something that won't get too tall.

Another thought was a houseplant at Home Depo but I didn't get the name. It was in the tropical houseplant section and has actual heart shaped leaves (not the Philodendron though these leaves were longer and wider). It's name started with an N but unfortunately I can't find a picture online to show you what it is. I think it would probably get too tall though.

Any thoughts? Should I just give the spearmint more time to adjust or should I move on?
