Oh No, I can't believe he's back in the hospital and now has pneumonia. That, to me, is one of the scariest things about hospitals as it seems to be caught so easily there.
How scary that he was so close to septic shock too.

Sending a lot more prayers for getting Bob WELL and HOME, and both of you to get some deserved rest from all this.

Bob had surgery this morning to remove the fluid that pretty much incapacitated his right lung. The surgeon said he took 2 pints of fluid out. By fluid, we are talking pus (yuck). Bob still has a tube going into his lung to continue to drain the fluid and he is on some powerful antibiotic cocktails. He is doing much better since the surgery but will still need time to recover. They are treating him like a prince in the ICU.

Thank you all for your prayers! There are lots of great folks here who God listens to, I'm glad I can call you friends!

Sweetie I am soo sorry you are going through this again. I have your name posted on my putor and saying a little prayer for you both... remember to take care of yourself as well.

A short update on Bob. I wasn't able to go see him tonight. It breaks my heart but my fibromyalgia is kicking my butt today. They keep the temperature just above freezing at work and I get so sore I can barely function.

These past two days he hasn't been doing very well. On Sunday, he had a severe bout of chills and then sweats. Last night when I saw him, he slept the whole time even when they were poking him with needles to get a blood sample. He seems to be having a digestive problem now. His abdomen was bloated and he has been having diarrhea. He goes for a CAT scan tomorrow to check on his tummy. I hope to God that everything goes well.

I am worried sick about him and appreciate all your well wishes and prayers more than you can ever know. Thank you all so much for being so sweet and supportive! You bring tears to my eyes with your kindness.

Kathy, when I saw this back up at the top, I wondered if you had more news. I sent you a prayer, but didn't see it posted. So very sorry, honey for what you both are going thru. It doesnt seem fair for bad things to happen to good people. But our God knows what he is doing, even though we cant figure out why. Keep praising him and thanking him for all of his mercy and goodness, though. He is still with you and hon, so are we. Yes, there is a lot of kindness here. Sometimes, more than I encounter on a day to day basis here in person. People can be so nasty. But you have REAL caring friends here, and so does Mr. Bob. We are always praying for you both and thinking of you. I find sometimes I do my most heartfelt praying when I am alone doing my projects. I think of everyone here alot when I am " in the creative-zone"! Take care and be strong in the Lord. Keep us posted. blessings, always-sherri

ah Kathy, so much for you and Bob to deal with. I understand how debilitating, mentally and physically, set-backs are. Its not surprising the Fibro is kicking your butt when stress is the worst thing for it. Hopefully the love and prayers and support coming from here will give you a bit of strength.
When Jas was barely out of the burn unit, he was asked to carry the Olympic Torch in Phoenix. A photo of him had a caption added to it by a Bishop here and published. I loved what the Bishop said....hope you do too.

Oh, Kathy...I feel so bad that you and Bob are having all these set-backs!

I am praying for Bob to have the strength to fight whatever is causing him all these problems, and for you to keep a positive outlook, which is so important to your own health.

I know so well what stress and worry does to you when you have Fibro. Get as much rest as you can. While we sleep, our body heals from the torture we put it through while we're awake.

Take comfort in knowing so many of us are praying for Bob and for you.

*sigh* Bob had another surgery today to find out what is happening with his tummy. They did find an infection and drained the fluid but have no idea if it was the result of his lung infection or if the lung infection started with his abdomen. They really couldn't see anything wrong except for the infection - no wound or problem with the incisions from his colon cancer surgery. He came out of surgery fine but complained that his tummy hurt like hell. I just hope he is finally on the road to recovery.

Bob looks like such a fun person, with that "joy of Life" spirit. I am holding you both close in heart and sending good thoughts every day for him to be home soon. Thank you for sharing the photos, its wonderful to get to know Bob a bit better.

We went thru so many set-backs the 4 months Jas was in the induced coma, that I lost count. Half the time I didn't know if we were coming or going. I was just thankful Jason never knew any of it.
I truly understand how hard this is on you and Bob.
By the way, I framed that photo of Jason (it was published in a police magazine) and gave it to his amazing burn surgeon. He said Jas changed his life greatly.

I'm so sorry that I have not checked this side for so long! I will keep you and Bob in my prayers.

You have quite a lot to deal with right now so don't forget HALT. That is, don't get too Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired. If you take care of yourself you will be able to cope better and take better care of others. I know that I tend to forget about caring for myself when there is a crisis. Most of us do, so this is just a gentle reminder.

Most importantly, remember, you and Bob are God's children. God loves you and will help you through the trying times in this life if you will ask Him.
